Active since the late 1980s, Johannsen has built a reputation for narrative-driven DJ sets that seamlessly connect musical histories, often highlighting overlooked gems and rare cuts. Beyond the decks, he is a respected music journalist and interviewer, contributing insightful commentary on dance music culture and its social contexts. His work, both as a selector and a writer, reflects a lifelong commitment to preserving and expanding the dialogue around underground music.
