It’s a shout for help, and recognition, and the fear of being alone and ultimately dying alone.


Is There Anybody Out There

A song about the devil, or the dark side and that no matter how well things are going or how happy you are something will come along to drag you down.

You Take Me Down

A song is about a man blessed or cursed with immortality, the loneliness that this brings and the relationships that he has had and lost, as a result.
He sees this as a curse, and that all he really desires is one life with one love and ultimately death



The Wanderer

A song  based on the words of a poem about world war one, and the horror of the barbed wire, dead bodies and gun fire, of fighting in the trenches in France.

It recognises the death dances of dying soldiers (Khaki dancers out of breath, doing the glorious dance of…), who have been shot or blown up by mortars

Birthrite are an Alternative/Indie band from the post-industrial Black Country, originally formed in 2008 by Erazamus Voss and Jonny Zygen, who have worked together on several previous collaborations and reformed in November 2015 as a duo with the power of a fully electric band with a hard edged sound for the 21st Century, offering diversity and non-conformity, spliced up with retro influences and electric guitars. 

Birthrite are highly visual, aurally eclectic and provide an energetic live show putting 120% into everything.
