The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

My mixer was in the shop for a month, so when I got it back last week I naturally played a long set with it at home. My XDJs were then again lent to a friend, so played with Traktor with a single K2 acting as a controller. Still, had so much fun, and thought it's a fine mix (I've myself listened it through three times already), so decided to share it. A lot more housey vibes on this one then usual, it seems I'm going towards that direction again. Also loads of Finnish artists featured in the mix, both were happy accidents, once again zero planning went into this, just played from my whole music collection on my laptop.
