Bristol based duo Mystic State have a beautiful new release forthcoming in the form of "The Last Lotus" The vinyl and digital release is a beautifully crafted masterpiece that showcases the duo's impeccable studio skills, with music that not only hits hard sonically, but is also beautiful to listen to. 

Taking a more stripped back approach, "The Last Lotus" sees Mystic State at the top of their game. From the haunting and rich vibe of the title track, to the bassline driven party shaker of the lead single "Strike", the dub infused vibes of "Blessings" and the fully stripped back genius of "Maud's Theme"... not to mention their stellar collaboration with Jack Flynn-Oakley on "Dream Theory". This is a tour-de-force from start to finish.

Darj - Ka'Andirah EP (SPREP015) [FKOF Promo]

Hailing from France, Darj presents a selection of murky, organic, and heavyweight tunes with definite middle eastern flavor and dub influence.  The title track, Ka'Andirah, is full of ethnic percussion and starts with a dreary soundscape highlighted by a reverberant middle eastern style vocal that transports the listener to an ancient past.  Substantial bass, and dynamic rhythms give the sound system a workout pushing you into the future.  Red Crypt continues with the ancient vibe, but adds a relentless sub-bass to keep the dance moving.  Envenom & Seamless Whole push the listener even further into the deep, dark depths of Darj's production.  Finally, Vesta rounds off the EP with consistent half-time kicks placed in a sparse sonic soundscape.  Remix of the title track by @Deafblind.

The first single from the forthcoming Therapy EP this tune drives straight to the core of dubstep touching on classic and current bass and rhythms while sonically evolving the precision and techniques these two are known for.

Kelly Dean x Kwizma - Oasis

One of the toughest tasks which artists of today are facing is making listeners go back and revisit an album you released even just a while ago. Rarely do people replay and dig deeper within the realms of a certain record as much as they did in pre-internet times. No one is to blame as there’s just so much music to be experienced and only so little time. With “Kanatitsa”, their first collaborative album, Bulgaria’s favorite electronic multitasker Ivan Shopov and traditional folklore singers Avigeya showed they are pretty good at pouring new energy into their work. The full-length was originally released on a CD, which sold in epic numbers. Then it was revived on audiphile vinyl and was of course backed by numerous live performances reaching as far as the USA. We were constantly reminded of the record and listeners never stopped caring about it even though whole two years passed since “Kanatitsa” was first shown to the world. 

With “Kanatitsa Remixed” Shopov is taking the record to a whole new level by inviting 41 artists from all over the world to remix it. This results in an extensive amount of music, which shows “Kanatitsa” from tens of new angles but was still born and raised in the same soil where the original was planted, grew and blossomed. Almost every track from the album was remixed multiple times with the new versions ranging from drum and bass, trip-hop, hip-hop, IDM, ambient, trance and to techno. Namedropping and highlighting pieces in this carefully curated selection of artists is pointless but you are now able to create your own tracklist, depending on your music preferences but without moving too far from the original or disrespecting the impressive musicianship that was shown in “Kanatitsa” on the first place. What else should we say? Enjoy the flight maybe.

Wesley Barbosa, nome por trás do projeto Parallel, é músico (estudou desde os 8 anos de idade) e apreciador de vários gêneros musicais. Desde 2014 na cena, seus sets atravessam os estilos, do comercial ao pouco conhecido, do house aos híbridos e experimentais, tendo como proposta a quebra de conceitos e união dos estilos. Sempre buscando novas influências, tem raízes fortes no trap e no dubstep, adicionando pitadas de outras vertentes não rotuladas, porém sempre buscando as baixas frequências. Hoje trabalha, como vertentes principais em suas seleções, com o bass house limpo e grooveado e o hybrid trap agressivo e acelerado. Fora da discotecagem, já fez trabalhos de curadoria musical e em 2017 passou a ser redator em um site especializado em música eletrônica grave. Seus sets já passaram por casas como Espaço Elevate, Mono Club, Trackers e Club 33.

Wesley Barbosa, the name behind Parallel, is a musician and a lover of many genres and music styles. His sets walk through the styles, from commercial to barely known, from Pop EDM to hybrid and experimental, with the purpose of breaking concepts and joining music styles together. In an unstoppable search for new influences, he has deep roots in trap and dubstep, adding a little bit of future beats, footwork and other unlabeled styles, but always looking forward for the low frequences.
