🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "Beatnik On The Ship" is one of the more simple songs in the original Streets of Rage soundtrack, but I didn't want to get too complex when I created my expansion. Rather, I wanted to build on the straightforwardness of the track with a few more elements that kept the song focused and tight. Less is more, and I'm happy with how it sounds.

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "Stealthy Steps" is one of the tracks I am most proud of. The original song was very simple, very light in terms of content, and didn't really have much going for it. My expansion was intended to make it seem as if the original song was but an intro for what's to come, and I think I've achieved that here. It references Yuzo Koshiro's original composition at every turn, while amplifying it with an expansion that builds, and Builds...and BUILDS...before circling back again. I love it, and no matter how many times I hear it, it still brings a smile to my face.

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "Violent Breathing" was one of those original Streets of Rage songs that didn't actually sound very violent at all. My intention was to give the song its due by incorporating a more powerful expansion that starts off with a dazzling piano and synth buildup, leading to a thunderous, riotous middle section intended to get heads banging, and feet stomping...LOUDLY!

Violent Breathing (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "The Last Soul" is a favorite of millions of Streets of Rage fans, which meant my expansion had to bring the goods, or fail outright. The intention was to stick close to the original feel of the song, while incorporating little sections that sounded unique, yet totally natural in relation to the original. Emotional resonance was the main goal here, and I leave it to the listeners to decide if I hit the mark or not.

The Last Soul (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Oct. 25/23🔥 - "Big Boss" references elements of the original Boss theme of Streets of Rage, while also foreshadowing "Revenge of Mr. X" from Streets of Rage 2. For that reason, I wanted to create an expansion for this song that A) stood on its own as a wholly unique add-on that compliments the original, and B) lays down some references to SOR2's final Boss theme. This is a more dance-infused take on the song, which is appropriate for SOR1.

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 6/23🔥 - "Go Straight" is one of the hardest Streets of Rage songs to mix, balance and master. After years of fighting it, I've finally created a version that I feel most happy with. I don't think I'll ever get it perfect (nothing is), but this is the closest to the vision I wanted. This is one of the hardest rocking video game tunes ever created, and I'm proud to build on Yuzo Koshiro's dynamite ingenuity and imagination with my expanded sections.

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 6/23🔥 - I was very, very happy with the Gold Edition of "Dreamer" that I did a little over a year ago. However, I'm now replacing it with the FINAL CRASH edition, which is the way it was meant to be heard. I'm so pleased with the emotion, the power, the sheer energy of the expansion I built onto Koshiro's landmark original. He provided the inspiration. I just let it flow. This, without a doubt, is the song I would like to dedicate most to him.

Dreamer (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 2

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 6/23🔥 - "Under Logic" sounded great when I released the Gold Edition, but there was room for improvement. There's a lot of layers going on here, especially with the Shamen samples I added in as an homage to Yuzo Koshiro's own influence. The result is a thumping, rollicking, high-energy hit n' run that I am so proud of! Enjoy this ultimate version, and my expansion.

Under Logic (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 2

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 6/23🔥 - "Jungle Base" underwent several renditions over the last decade, but each time, I got closer and closer to the version I wanted to put out. Finally, I've reached that point. I love this version of the song, and the expansion sounds so beautifully and perfectly intertwined with the original. I couldn't be happier with it.

Jungle Base (Expanded & Enhanced) - STREETS OF RAGE 2

🔥FINAL CRASH UPDATE / Nov. 6/23🔥 - The last release of "Expander" I did failed to produce a worthy mix. I'm glad to finally rectify that in order to pay correct homage to Motohiro Kawashima's frantic, crazy and awesome creation. The expansion I built for this song is one I'm incredibly proud of, and I think it sounds so natural against Kawashima's arrangement. Purely subjective, of course!
