I've put together a fresh volume of my "Sounds Of The Amiga Rave" series, using two Amiga computers from the Jurassic era (1992) to produce some seriously phat rave sounds.
This mix features rare edits, remixes, and original tracks created by some talented musicians who managed to work wonders with some truly primitive hardware, both back in the day and nowadays, and also some of my own original and remix work. The beats range from jungle to happy hardcore to gabber and anything else that would demolish with a proper rave feel, so you better believe that the party will be on!

Oh, and in case you're wondering, I personally developed the DJ software running on those Amiga computers. And the emulated Amiga software running on the PS Vita? Yeah, that's mine too. So, if you see me up on the stage, just know that you're witnessing some true Amiga rave power!

This is a radio segment from the show The Next Big Thing that aired sometime after the April 27, 2003 Game Boy Music Match, held at both Open Air Bar in Manhattan and Rhiz Bar Modern in Vienna, Austria and live streamed. I would upload the live stream itself, but it will require a bit of editing, so I will need some time to get to it.
Performing in NY were Bit Shifter, Nullsleep, glomag, Minusbaby and Mark Denardo (who was not present but loaned us his LSDJ cart to playback one of his tracks.)

About After Ruso

These tracks try to represent an early morning moment in Madrid's nightlife, just before the sun rises, where time seems to stand still. People take refuge in dark cubicles with colored lights, techno orchestras and Russians taking personal data on tin toy forms to avoid ﬁnes.

When they run out of energy, they start their way back home by subway... Those lucky enough to take line 6 enter a loop of drowsiness and can spend hours spinning around the circular line, a phenomenon worth seeing up close.

If your room starts to smell of cigarettes and warm Mahou beer, we've probably done a good job.

About The Black Puppy

The Black Puppy is Fernando Ochoa, Venezuelan musician based in Spain since 2012.

He currently resides in Barcelona where he is a founding member and Host in Radio Banda Larga, event promoter and Dj in Colectivo Muvuka, among other projects.

Multi-instrumentalist guitarist, with more than 15 years of experience, starting his career in Venezuela to later continue in Madrid.

Founding member, composer and arranger of bands such as Matatigre, Candeleros, I Have Prøblemas and his personal project The Black Puppy.

About Ju-Ju

Ju-Ju (Julian Carrara) is a music producer and sound engineer based in Madrid.

His music background is inﬂuenced by a wide range of styles, from the most archaic 8-bit sounds (2G1B), through his experience into the Latin American alternative music (Candeleros, I Have Prøblemas), up to the most rave and acid sounds.

His versatility and passion for exploring diﬀerent musical styles are reﬂected in his work. Ju-Ju combines his technical expertise with a unique artistic sensibility to create innovative and captivating soundscapes.

Al agotar la energía sobrante, emprenden la vuelta a casa en metro... Las personas afortunadas que toman la línea 6 entran en un bucle de somnolencia y pueden quedarse horas girando por la línea circular, un
fenómeno digno de ver de cerca.

Bob Barley - Episode 6: This episode of Cult and Culture features Bob Barley: plumber and 1991 Chula Vista mayoral candidate by day, Vinyl Communications label owner and vocalist of Tit Wrench and Neighborhood Watch by night. Bob shares what it was like to be "the king of the nuisance candidates" at age 26, endorsed by the Green Party and Jello Biafra alike, and what it was that interested him as a young punk plumber to even try running for local office. The trio delve more in depth with topics ranging from starting and running a DIY record label, to the pros and cons of nostalgia, to various forms of art, activism, and anarchy manifested in San Diego.

The concept of Cult and Culture began as a short segment created by Justin Pearson, an internationally known musician, record label owner (Three One G Records), author, and actor. He is perhaps best known as bassist for bands such as Dead Cross, The Locust, and Some Girls as well as vocalist for Deaf Club, Swing Kids, and Planet B. Having traveled the world touring in hardcore and punk bands since age 15, Justin has come to know and work with a broad spectrum of captivating personalities and brilliant minds, many of which are key figures in the realm of popular culture and cult followings alike-- from being on the soundtrack to John Waters’ Cecil B. Demented, to acting in an Asia Argento’s Incompresa, to playing in Dead Cross with Mike Patton and Dave Lombardo. Cult and Culture arose as an opportunity to document bits and pieces of the DIY-driven, subversive world of art Pearson identifies with- one that many are not aware of or perhaps have misconceptions about.

Eventually, Pearson joined up with producer and bandmate Luke Henshaw (Sonido De La Frontera, Planet B, Satanic Planet, First Power Crew) to build the idea into a proper podcast, now recorded at his own PengOne Studios in San Diego. Henshaw has collaborated with hip hop legends such as Invisible Skratch Piklz’ D-Styles and Q-Bert, Kool Keith, in addition to being immersed in the world of Cumbia alongside Sonido De La Frontera bandmate Karlos Paez (B Side Players). He also recently scored the music for upcoming documentary Sk8face, which tells the history of skateboard graphics. In this way, both Justin and Luke are influenced by a diverse array of subcultures that all have connected roots. John Waters was one of the first people interviewed for the podcast- an icon of both cult and culture. Since then, guests have included a broad scope of musicians, producers, authors, and anyone passionate about what they do-- anyone from Grammy-winning musician Juan Alderete (Mars Volta, Racer X, creator of Pedals And Effects) to actor Michael Malarkey (Vampire Diaries, Project Bluebook), from San Diego Black Panther Party members to longtime partners Nicola and Adam in electro-punk band ADULT. or The Satanic Temple cofounder Lucien Greaves (who would go on to form Satanic Planet with Luke and Justin as a direct result of their podcast conversation). The focus is not intended to be solely on people in any one realm, and because guests are friends and family, the conversations are frank, informal yet well-informed, and genuine. Pearson and Henshaw seek to achieve a casual openness, blurring lines between traditional guest and host. Cult and Culture is part of Ruinous Media.
