My age-old demoscene alter ego "Power of Creation" created two albums. This is my first album, partly named after the neat 3DStudio Max drawing I did with the fantasy cones. The songs are created in Impulse Tracker and most samples are found on sample compilations or in songs from artists I love(d).

Beyond Fantasy

Power of Creation - Intro

After working late punching export invoices at UPS, my friend and colleague drove me home in what can be described as "criminally high speed". On top of being overtired, this car ride got my adrenaline pumping and before I knew it, the outline for Adrenaline was done. A couple of weeks later in 1997, this tune was completed.

As all the other tunes on Beyond Fantasy, Adrenaline was created in Impulse Tracker on MS DOS.

Power of Creation - Adrenaline

This is a hysterically cheesy house tune that I created over a lead melody I'm sure I've ripped from someone, somewhere, but as I've never discovered what the inspiration might be, I'll leave this up here as an "original" tune nevertheless.

Power of Creation - Life Without Love

A rather boring tune that barely made it on to the album "Beyond Fantasy". I think the break is ok in its build-up and take-off, but overall I'm not very happy with this tune.

Power of Creation - Project Millennium

I have no recollection on how I got to the samples from the 1978 animated film, "The Lord of The Rings", but they somehow ended up on my harddrive and long before the Peter Jackson movies were even thought of, this song came to life.

Power of Creation - One Ring

United in Power came to be from a nice sinus wave and heavy kick. From there I just threw together some chords and finally came up with a lead that can barely carry the song to its end.

As with all songs on the album, this tune is created in Impulse Tracker 2.14 on MS-DOS where samples above 8 bits were luxurious, so if you find the sound quality lacking, then that's the (main) cause.

Bitbear is Asbjørn Ulsberg's tone-hammering, beat-juggling and demoscene participating alter ego.

Bitbear started fiddling with music in Pro Tracker on the Amiga 500 in the early 90's. But first when he got his hands on Scream Tracker and Fast Tracker on a PC, he started producing "real" music under the alias "Power of Creation".

He created two albums and submitted songs to various demoscene competitions throughout the 90's until he put his musical career on the shelf until it was rebooted in 2012 by entering the Kindergarden 2012 Dance Music Competition under the new-found alias Bitbear.
