MICA - Don't Look Down (feat. VANA)

JT Roach sent over a few ideas during 2020 and I immediately gravitated towards this song. It was him singing over his guitar with a few other instruments added, and when I got the stems the first thing I realized is I didn't want to over produce and clutter the song.

Marathon evolves as you listen through, going through different stages and chord progressions to emphasize the lyrics. It feels different to many songs I've worked on but it holds a special place in my heart for that very reason.

"After finishing the production for this track I was inspired to write a song about friendship and being there for the people closest to you. The lyrics can be summed up with the word “empathy”. I wanted to dedicate this song to my best friend Rossy so we went to a bar one night to take some polaroids together and I made the cover art using the photos we took and named the track “care about u”." - @paulineherr
