This song is about how awesome it is to have a family even when you're totally broke. 

Years ago, we lost almost everything when my wife had cancer. We were completely broke at the time. As we were walking into Walmart with what little money we had, I looked down to see my kids laughing, and my daughter skipping into the store. At that moment, I just thought, "I'm the richest man alive." That was the basis for this song.
