Duo Amine Edge & DANCE impress with two tracks demonstrating their finely-tuned low-end house sound. Hailing from Southern France, Amine Edge & DANCE have built their own musical empire, namely a burgeoning label called CUFF. In their productions they draw inspiration from early House, Phili Soul, Hip-Hop and everything in between. ‘Good Time EP’ does what it says on the tin, but represents the beginnings of a new direction and a stylistic departure from their signature G-House sound. The lead track shows their versatility with a straight-up 4/4 beat along with chop ‘n change vocals whereas ‘F.U.N.K.’ is a more industrial tech-inspired offering, putting a very modern twist on the funk.

Amine Edge & DANCE 'Good Time

A quietly underrated producer and accomplished musician, Rapson's name may be unfamiliar to most but his talents are undeniable. A versatile artist, he worked as a session musician on Ben Westbeech's critically-acclaimed Brownswood Recordings releases and was for some time known for a broken beat-type sound, before his sublime white-label edit of Marvin Gaye's 'Mercy Mercy Me' was picked up and supported by Gilles Peterson.

'Heat' is a sparkling gem of a house record, echoing Disclosure's weightless bouncing basslines with beautifully clear-cut vocals from Nathan Thomas on top. Hotly anticipated by house heads worldwide, Rapson's 'Heat' finally gets a full release on Defected alongside a remix from Scott Diaz who creates a tougher groove, bringing the track firmly down to earth. Finally, Sweden's OPOLOPO's remix sees the track transform into a nu-disco rendition with a warm summer feel. An irresistible vocal hook, piano riff and versatile production sets 'Heat' up to be heating up dancefloors worldwide for a while to come.

West London’s Slip 'n' Slide was one of the UK’s original house imprints. Starting in 1994 with early releases from artists such as Blaze, X-Press 2, Masters At Work and Kings Of Tomorrow, they set the benchmark for house music in the UK. Kevin Hedge and Josh Milan (aka Blaze) were one of Slip ‘n’ Slide’s most prolific acts, with ‘Do You Remember House?’ written and produced by the pair. One of a number of records where Hedge playfully dons his Palmer Brown alter ego for vocal duties, this new remix package showcases this enduring classic with three new versions. Up first, Italian duo The Cube Guys re-work Bob Sinclar’s classic remix, maintaining Bob’s signature Parisian flare with a modern edge for today’s dancefloors. Up next, Harry Romero’s ultra-refined, irresistibly grooving remix follows, before Seamus Haji’s Big Love edit closes out the package, gloriously bumpy with hypnotic loops that allow the vocal to really shine.
