Hot wiring dancefloors with their immersive orchestration of uplifting sonic waves, Soft Crash sets out to soundtrack the unified, euphoric heartbeat of the crowds they foster with their mechanical yet fantastical, Italo Body Music. Presenting their highly anticipated EP ‘NRG’, the Berlin-based collaborative project of Berghain resident and BITE label head Hayden Payne (aka Phase Fatale) and French prolific producer Pablo Bozzi works to forge Soft Crash’s unique vocabulary of post-humanist production with the harmonic grandeur of their rhythmic, machine-made anthems.

Fresh off the back of their 2022 debut album ‘Your Last Everything’, Soft Crash present their latest 4 track EP ‘NRG’, chronicling their synonymous surrealist visuals infused with the contagious punch of Italo and Synth-wave. Geared towards the dancefloor from a fresh perspective, Bozzi and Payne pull from their respective wheelhouses to curate a sound additionally influenced by Wave-Pop, Acid House and Post-Punk sensibilities.

Procuring their cerebral yet zealous indentation of dance music, the EP features sanguine vocals from Kyiv-based singer and musician Ready in LED on the first single ‘Free Yourself’. She comments about the track “I became captivated instantly with the idea of the track that Hayden and Pablo sent me. At that moment, I was a bit tired of carefree disco and wanted to reveal my dark side in music. The demo sounded very daring. This track demands attention to itself from the first seconds. My sources of inspiration were glam rock and grunge. I had a blast in the studio, and I hope the people on the dance floors will feel that energy too.”

While full throttle vitality and booming grooves on the title track ‘NRG’ showcase Soft Crash’s take on 90’s sample-filled techno. Closing the extended play with an updated cut of the bewitching ‘Your Last Everything’, featuring Canadian musician and producer Marie Davidson, Soft Crash breathe a new life into the namesake track from their preceding album, concluding with an additional remix of the track by cult favourite producer Alen Skanner. The intrinsic dance floor vigour emulated in NRG further fleshes-out the pair’s recognisable DNA of nurturing a revitalised techno sound, cementing them as pioneers of the Italo Body genre.

Abundant in field recordings from this former sailor officer's favorite beaches of Crimea, this material has sounds of the sea and ocean as a main inspiration. Both gentle and moist in its melodies and as harsh as techno can get in its beats, D. Yaroslav’s debut takes a strong stance and doesn’t fall out of character. Once again, we are helping the ones in need. Dug Up The Bongo founder reached out to us with this entrancing material to help Kyiv’s humanitarian fund “Grains of Peace”, started by “20ft radio”."

Puritan pres. Body Pressure

On Friday 8th September Morocco was struck by the strongest earthquake on record for over a century. Hitting the High Atlas mountains, around 70 kilometres southwest of Marrakesh, the 6.8 magnitude quake has killed over 3000 people and impacted the lives of over 300,000 more.

Ranson Note just released ‘Tadamoun: A Compilation for Moroccan Earthquake Relief’ - in collaboration with Reda Saiarh and 23 more artists from across Europe. All proceeds will be split 50/50 between two charities who are helping to raise money for those affected and to rebuild communities that have been devastated: Atlas Kinder, a charity who supports abandoned children in Morocco, and Insaf, a non-profit organisation that protects and supports women and children.

Chromium - Something In The Air (The Hacker Club Mix)

"No Sleep / Toward the Sun" is a powerful, emotionally charged EDM/Trance/Techno composition that captures the restless energy of a sleepless night. Structured around the passing hours—midnight, 1 AM, 2 AM, and beyond—the lyrics explore the tension between time slipping away and the overwhelming desire to live fully, love deeply, and move forward despite exhaustion.

The song features spoken word intros and outros, four lyrical verses, a pre-chorus, a soaring chorus, a reprise, and seven instrumental sections. These instrumental parts are meticulously crafted to reflect emotional shifts: from introspective calm to euphoric release. The sound design blends driving techno rhythms, layered EDM textures, and cinematic orchestration with distorted synth leads and ambient breakdowns.

Inspired by epic rock aesthetics, the intro and outro incorporate dramatic piano, strings, and guitar-like synths to evoke grandeur and melancholy. A new instrumental section before the bridge intensifies the emotional arc with orchestral bursts, military-style drums, and rising tension. Throughout the track, ticking clocks and digital motifs reinforce the theme of urgency and reflection.

Ultimately, the song is a declaration of resilience. It’s about choosing light over darkness, love over bitterness, and motion over stagnation—chasing the sun even when sleep won’t come.

BITE is the Berlin-based techno label co-founded by Hayden Payne (aka Phase Fatale) in 2018. Beginning with the debut collaborative EP by Silent Servant & Phase Fatale, the label aims to platform artists who operate outside the conventional preconceptions of techno and are united by an ambition to push the boundaries of electronic music. This drive is further exemplified by regular showcases at renowned institutions Berghain, Basement, and Tbilisi’s KHIDI as well as a multitude of clubs throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
