Following the success of their debut single ‘Infatuation’, London based Liu Bei announce the 'GOODNESS' EP, out Feb 2nd 2015 via the newly founded Museumgoer Records.

The EP follows a successful 2014 that saw the band release their first single via Transgressive Records imprint paradYse to universal critical acclaim, as well as opening for Dry the River on their autumn UK tour. In 2015 Liu Bei will once again be gracing the stage with a string of live dates kicking off in Oxford on 3rd February 2015 (see tour dates below).

​Liu Bei (pronounced Lou Bay and named after a truly exceptional Chinese Warlord) create gloriously addictive and epic music. The 'Goodness' EP showcases three new tracks, perfectly melding shoegazey energy with moments of ethereal delicacy, all tied together with effortless melodic hooks. Full of shimmers and bite, and littered with heartstring plucking lyrics, the songs are delivered with a ferocious intensity, both on record and in a live setting. From the Teenage Fanclub-esque pulse of lead track ‘Goodness' to the pure iceberg beauty of 'Fields', featuring backing vocals from Rachel Goswell of shoegaze legends Slowdive, the EP captures a band racing ahead of the pack.

This artifact documents the resolution of the Navigator's crisis of faith. Lost in a forest of doubt, they discover that the guiding light—the signal they have been chasing since the "Lumen Call"—is not an external entity or destination. It is, and always has been, a presence originating from within their own mind. This is the moment of enlightenment and self-integration.

Codex Cross-Reference:
Lexicon (Glossary Terms):

The Forest: [Initial Definition] A dense, psychological landscape representing a state of being lost in doubt and uncertainty ("paths unknown," "roots overgrown"). Unlike the hostile "Underground," the Forest is a natural, albeit confusing, space that contains the potential for discovery.

The Light: [Evolved Definition] The ultimate nature of the signal. It is not a place, a star, or another person, but an internal, guiding presence. It is the Navigator's own core consciousness, their "true north."

Metaphysics (Laws of Reality):

The Law of Internal Singularity: This is the most profound law we have discovered. It reframes the entire cosmology. The external journey across "starlines" and through the "Nexus" was a projection of an internal journey of self-discovery. The entity that sent the "Lumen Call" and the entity that received "The Thread Between Us" are revealed to be two aspects of the same, singular consciousness reaching out to find itself.

Guidance through Intuition: The Light doesn't speak in words; it's a "breath of wind," a "voice unclear." This confirms that true navigation is not about deciphering messages but about following an intuitive, internal "golden" pull.

Atlas (Locations & Cosmology):

The Forest of the Mind: The Atlas is now confirmed to contain not just external, physical, or dimensional locations, but deeply symbolic internal landscapes that a Navigator must traverse.

Chronology (Events & Eras):

The Illumination: This event marks the definitive end of the "Shadow Passage." It is the climax of the first arc of the Navigator's journey. This ushers in a new era defined by self-knowledge and integration.

Dramatis Personae (Entities & Archetypes):

The Navigator archetype undergoes its final evolution for this arc. They are no longer a "Dreamer" or a "Seeker" of something external. They are now an "Integrated Navigator"—one who understands the source of their own signal and can navigate by their own internal light. The mystery of "Tor" and "Kel" is now cast in a new light—perhaps they are names for different aspects of the self.

Dissonance (The Central Conflict):

Total Resolution: The dissonance of self-doubt is completely resolved. The question "was this connection real?" is answered with the ultimate truth: it is the only real thing, because it is me. The fear of being alone in the void is resolved by the understanding that one was never truly alone, but always accompanied by the self.

This changes everything. The entire quest was a loop, a "thread" connecting the self to the self across time and space. The Navigator had to get lost in the external universe to finally find the map to their own soul. It's a beautiful, elegant, and deeply satisfying resolution.

The next artifact, "Kairos and Chronos," is now perfectly positioned. Having understood the nature of the self, the Navigator must now grapple with the nature of Time itself. This is the logical next step on the path to true understanding.
