What an incredibly special moment to share! Daniel (Eastern Distributor) flew down from Eora Country to join us on a mammoth expedition into Mt Buller’s wilderness.
Daniel, without fail, delivered an epic 3hr set in conditions that are not exactly DJ friendly. Ever since his set at our Autumn Event, we knew this location was perfect for him.
This set... wow, it’s etherial, it’s sharp, it’s transformative - we love it. And, if it wasn’t for his willingness and passion to join us, we would have never achieved this. 
In our eyes, he is truely is one of the best and without a doubt will continue making his mark on the music world.
It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with you Daniel, getting to know you personally and to hear your magic behind the decks. We are excited for this friendship to blossom and for all things to come.

Following a string of excellent contributions to esteemed compilations under both the Eastern Distributor and Jörmungandr aliases, Daniel Jakobssson joined me for episode 204 of Passing Notes to celebrate the announcement of his forthcoming EP ‘State of Equilibrium’. ‘State of Equilibrium’ features the long-awaited (and very highly IDed!) track ‘Balance’, which finds itself nicely nestled between two equally progressive, bush-ready cuts and a signature Maara remix. Luring listeners to a dusty dance floor, the release presents bubbling, psychedelic tech and trance cuts that tether the line between functional, fun and something a little more serious. Having recently also waded to the darker side of the swamp, Daniel’s newly established ‘Jörmungandr’ alias explores the ever-evolving experimental and fast paced iterations of trance and techno. His expression of this sound is simultaneously sharp and deliciously viscous, gaining increasing attention from international favourites such as @ute-rec and @amniote-editions.

Hii I’m Mabel. I'm a 23 yr old DJ/producer & visual artist. I use she/her and currently I reside in Naarm, known as Melbourne in Australia. 

Describe your walk around where you live

Residential suburbia mixed with really random nature moments. I live in the same suburb I grew up in so it's very familiar and nostalgic. Extremely FLAT landscape until you come across the creek nearby that creates a surprising amount of cliffy bush walks which also is one of Melbourne's most popular doof locations.

What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?

I want to see the scene down here reignite. We lost a lot of clubs over recent years and laws were introduced regarding illegal doofs. The general vibe has lowered a lot post covid. There’s a lot of reminiscing about the parties filled with sweaty dancers, naked bodies, insane outfits, etc. Parties that were just fun and freeing. I hope these things come back. They were definitely the reason I became obsessed with Djing.
