Started in 2020, the Mentoring Program run by label owner Martyn has become a worldwide online and IRL community of artists sharing resources, ideas and inspiration. This compilation showcases the wide range of fresh and amazing music that is continuously surfacing from the program, unbound by strict genre definitions.

Besides a collection of new music, Undercurrents is also a consideration of what a record label can be in 2024. Whether it’s a platform for repurposing old material, providing daylight for new sounds, artists or even entire communities, or injecting new ideas about authenticity and sustainability into the current of the underground, rather than partaking in the unwinnable race over algorithm dominance. We're sadly very familiar with these issues and have been endorsing "Urgence Notre Police Assassine" & other associations for a while. UNPA was founded by Amal Bentounsi. Her brother Amine got killed by gunshot by a policeman. Since then she fought against institutional racism & injustice as cops almost never go to jail when things like this happen
