Alexey Union breaks the barrier of sound once again: „Givin’ Up“ is the radiating title song of his new ZEHN EP. 

It all starts with a driven vintage flavored guitar riff and stylized vocals. Fueled by a wavy 80s beat, this track emulates a vibe like straight out of a cult TV series.
Then: „Apacashaka“ hits! This is season two of our series if you want to. A shaky beat meets distant flutes and a tribal voice. We are now entering another world full of mysteries and ancient energies.
„Bloom“ ads the final riddle to this adventure. A natural percussion drive, oriental string, and flute melodies establish a feeling of exotic spirits dancing on the mountains of Garhwal. It feels like an invitation from the gods to solve the age-old puzzle of humanity.

Steyoyoke Black continues to make its presence known and with the wind of success in their sails they charge full steam ahead with their second release, which has already featured in Finnbassen's latest BBC Radio 1 podcast for Pete Tong. The 'Tranquila' EP by Pete Oak features one original and one remix, with Dahu stepping forth for remix duties. 'Tranquila' is an EP that brings together not one, but two princes of darkness who perfectly reflect the sinister sounds now bound to Steyoyoke Black.

'Tranquilla' is an ode to Pete Oak's production skills and is indeed something to be admired. The rhythm is sharp, intense and demanding, with a heavy dose of percussion to help accentuate a strong sense of mystique and power. The bassline rolls and lolls, sucking into a hole of techno driven darkness. 

Dahu's remix can best be described as liquid gold to the ears. He chooses to expose 'Tranquila's underlying attitude and majestic beauty, which makes you want to close your eyes at times to fully absorb its melodic groove. Strings, high hats and layered synths overlap a cascade of chord progressions, that gradually push you to a point of no return.

Jupiter Pace kick starts proceedings with ‘The Beat’, a deep and sultry production featuring scintillating synths and a smooth low-end, before in.deed return to Kittball with the melodic and mesmerising ‘Love And Happiness’. Whoami then delivers a bass fuelled cut titled ‘Rehab’ before label regulars Chemical Surf pair up with Bondi in a serene slice of House named ‘Losing Abilities’. Dashdot ‘Hope’ is perhaps the most atmospheric track on the package with its soaring pads and dusky elements, making way for Modul Kollektiv’s arpeggio heavy ‘Breathe’ leaving Pazkal to conclude the release with the tribal inspired ‘Gotta Let Go’.

The Dutch upcoming Jaden Raxel (@jadenraxel) is the one who provides the 19th EP of Infinte Depth. With his characteristic fierce synth-work he created three originals of which one collaboration with the Austrian Severin Su (@severinsu). This collaboration is also the title track, called ‘Words of Zeus’.

‘Calm Before the Storm’ is the first track of the EP and it immediately sets the tone with a groovy, but high tensioned and dark mood. A pleasant composition of synths is getting through at the breaks, but right at the moment you think it’s going to be dreamy, the main lead hits you back. All this together forms a forceful, but still gentle, first indication of an upcoming storm.

The title track is a theatrical track representing the core of the storm in which the words of Zeus are echoing around. Jaden Raxel and Severin Su turned these words into sound and they managed to add a layer of vigorous emotions. As result of this combination the track is as overwhelming as a bank of dark clouds. Nevertheless, there is an optimistic spirit flowing through the track.

‘Upper Atmosphere’ can be seen as the storm arriving at its final destination. The mysterious tendency of the track lets you feel the turmoil, which is still present in the sky. The cutting synths and drums are reaching your ears through the final winds blown by this collection of tracks, forming an impactful end of the ‘Words of Zeus’ EP.

The latest release from Tash’s Movement Recordings welcomes Dizharmonia back to the label with a new EP. Hailing from Athens, the Greek duo first appeared on the label in February of 2018 with their well received ‘Trigonon’ EP. 2019 then saw Dizharmonia return to Movement, delivering a stunning remix of Wielki’s ‘Excelsior’. Firmly established in the world of melodic house and techno, the duo lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on Beatfreak Recordings, Steyoyoke, StilVor Talent and Timeless Moment.
