What is my purpose? A question that „Greene“ has always been moved by. At the end of 2019 it became clear - music is the answer. So the Hamburg guy began to convert his creative ideas to musicproductions. Releases followed quickly on AWEN, Ein2, Katz&Kauz, Deep Woods and Audiosafari. Driven by expressing his feelings and to capture the beauty of nature in music his tracks follow melodic technoid patterns and can‘t be defined by one genre only. His style is to be described somewhere between melodic techno and progressive House. Podcasts and sets are worked out intuitively and follow the energy of the day or of the crowd. In 2020 he started together with a bunch of other djs his Event „Katzenball“. You should be curious about what is coming next.

Marleen Polakowski aka Mimi Marleen (*1990 in Cologne, Germany) is a Techno DJane, Producer, Radio and TV presenter.

“If you don’t go forwards you go backwards“ is the motto of this young emerging talent and in May 2011 she parted with her previous artist name "Mimi Marleen" and has spent time on her new projects and goals.

Her musical passion is Techno: groovy, impulsive, straight forward and partly influenced by rhythmic Tech-House elements. Thanks to Marleens technical prowess and the creative mastery of Traktor, her sets are renowned for their creativity and unique musical style. She plays with 4 decks all in all with the aid of 2 midi-controllers to enable a creative and individual DJ set. Her aim is to be able to play an Ableton Live-Set.

🗯🗯 How did Corona change your artist life?🗯🗯

Gigs and events were cancelled and beside podcasts and streams everything got put on hold. What I can appreciate about it: It slowed down my whole life. Usually there is not enough space between one event and the next, which is sometimes sad: I love to reflect, to let it sink in, to see what a moment did to me. Now is the time for that. Right now I discover the quality of the space in between. Experiencing a state of being in the gap might end up in inspiration for new ideas and creative work.

Now I also have more space to develop projects that I had in mind for a long time.

To replenish personal and artistic energy resources plus getting enough sleep again feels very healthy.

🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯

I recorded in the basement of Gängeviertel in Hamburg which was used for parties and concerts until March.

Gängeviertel offers a DJ rehearsal space for female and nonbinary identifying flox. Here we cofounded our collective Kosmos&Krawall (@kosmosundkrawall) that was and still is an amazing support throughout my music and nightlife journey. Together we hosted parties, met on a regular bases and offered DJ Workshops for beginners. So for me the space is very charged with supportive energy and made me feel at home. Diving into the strong Techno vibes and feeling the bassline in my stomach brought up many memories. My body was flushed with a hormon rush, I felt excited and incredible happy.

🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona?  🗯🗯

My wish is that cultural spaces, especially alternative and sub cultural spaces will survive. Without them cities would be nothing but a place to work and shop, which would turn out to be a very sad life. We all need public spaces where we can meet, enjoy and inspire each other. Also I would wish that all the important discourses on how to act respectfully, to welcome diversity and to truly care for each other and our environment will be remembered and continued! I hope that the work that so many humans already did in this field will remain alive and can become more strong as soon as we can safely gather again.
