Almost LIke Being In Love

Hi!  My name is B J Perez.  I am a music educator, big band leader, woodwind doubler (clarinet, sax, flute, oboe), and resident of the Greater New Orleans area.  In the last 10 years, I have begun arranging for various groups.  My arranging has mainly been focused on clarinet quintet, although I have done arrangements for flutes, saxes, trombones, and woodwind quintets, along with jazz ensembles, marching bands, and full concert band.

This page and these arrangements evolved out of the desperation for playing music that came from the COVID-19 virus and its effects on the music performance industry.  I wrote and recorded often during the Spring of 2020, hoping that the arrangements would be performed by a group in a few months.  Well, a few months passed and still no live music in the New Orleans area.  Now, we are approaching Christmas 2020 and I have written about 20 Christmas selections for clarinet quintet.   I hope to begin recording and uploading those arrangements soon.
