It's been a beautiful 4 years with the noods fam who have helped me feel connected to my UK roots since moving to Berlin 10 years ago. This final send off was accompanied by a stunning guestmix from MM - exploring the moments of consciousness between saying goodbye to one moment and hello to the next, like the passing of night to day 🌙 🌉

Learning Curves is back after a long break, inviting this month @radioplato founders on for a talk on the origins of the station, online community radio and political challenges. Based in the Belerus' capital city of Minsk, the station was launched back in 2018 by journalist, sound engineer and music selectors Aleksandr Korneichuk and Pavel Kirpikov.

Through their social and cultural project of Radio Plato, the station has created a community in Minsk encouraging support for local artists. I invited them on to talk about the growth of the station, the challenges that have stood in the way for their community from the Belerusian Revolution, the side effects of the Russian invasion on Ukraine and the future of both the station and the community of Belerusian artists after fleeing their homeland.

This month, I am very happy to invite Gaby D'Annunzio & Yosa Peit on for the first Learning Curve show of 2023.

Gaby has recently been described as 'a social activist, community organizer, podcaster and educator. Gaby is a community powerhouse, working together with multiple organisations to open up, not just Berlin’s music scene, but provide access and opportunity to everyone looking to share their story through the mediums of music, radio and journalism. Gaby works with Refuge Worldwide (@refugeworldwide) as their Head of Community Development and Education, she is the co-founder of Open Music Lab(@openmusiclab). OML aims to create safer spaces for music creation, giving opportunities for Berlin's diverse communities to connect at free music workshops.

Yosa Peit (@josa-peit) is the vocalist, producer and founder of Error Music don’t delete! She has sung on tour with Holly Herndon and just released an incredible album on Tax Free Records (@taxfreerec) called Phyton - I love this album! Error Music – don’t delete! is a new experimental sound x tech edu format for girls, trans, inter* and non-binary kids. The project engages students in the idea of E
error-culture and the joy of making 'mistakes'. Through building synths, theremins, live performance with music industry mentors and schooling in the history of female pioneers of computing and electronic music.

We sat down for a discussion one rainy morning in the @thfradio studio to talk through the origins of their projects, how to get involved with creative social engagement work and future prospects.
