With Applause｜Paloma Colombe presents Dihya, DJ and curator Paloma Colombe delivers an embodied compilation, deeply rooted in her time, conceived as an exploration of the percussive 2.0 scene. Driven by a desire to amplify marginalized voices within the music industry, she brings together 11 artists from these communities.

The musical direction is unmistakable — each track draws its club energy from the richness of drum patterns and the power of syncopated rhythms.
Paloma Colombe summons them as forces of transcendence and healing, giving shape to her vision of the party.

“They bring the body and the mind into a kind of trance that pushes you to open up, to free yourself. You can cry in the club! What matters is to let it out, to feel better.”

Nourished by her Amazigh heritage and her immersion in the radical queer scene of California, Paloma Colombe envisions the club as a space of fertile friction between ritual, resistance, and release.

A single image runs through her imagination:

“A group of 60 Kabyle women singing and clapping in syncopation. There lies the essence of the collective, the rhythm that connects and soothes, the sacredness of music, and the feet firmly grounded in the earth — here, the club.”

BKO is a fresh and modern super-quintet from BAMAKO which performs an electrified and highly danceable set of Malian music.
Associating the guitar of griots with the lute of Bambara hunters had never been undertaken before in the Malian music universe. It is indeed two opposite worlds that BKO  have decided to bring up together in order to develop a resolutely urban music style rooted in secular tradition.

C'est donc bien à BAMAKO, porte 386, rue 20 dans le quartier de Medina
Coura, que se déroule les répétitions du groupe BKO depuis avril 2012,
même date où l'Etat Malien avait proclamé l'Etat d'Urgence.
A ce moment, personne n'aurait pu imaginer que cet endroit serait à
l'origine de 2 albums et plus 300 concerts dans 20 pays.

Le groupe "BKO" réunit pour la première fois dans l'univers sonore des
musiques maliennes, la guitare des griots et le luth à six cordes des
Donsos (Chasseurs bambaras animistes) au sein de sonorités intenses et
actuelles.
Voix chaudes et vibrantes, percussions hybrides et cordes des n'goni
jouent sur l'amplification et la saturation pour donner naissance à un
son singulier et unique venu du Sahel.

Le 2ème album "MALI FOLI COURA" qui signifie littéralement "nouvelle
musique du MALI" dont la sortie est prévue en Novembre 2017 sur le label
Buda Musique explore rock, transe électrique et rythmiques fiévreuses.
Enregistré en France à LYON, dans les studios de la friche
artistique"LAMARTINE" et Réalisé par le trio David Kiledjian/Yoan
Jauneaud/Aymeric Krol; cet album se veut plus viscéral et instinctif,
que le premier ("BAMAKO TODAY" sortie en 2014) et loin de toute "world
musique" standardisée.

Bien qu'ancrée dans des traditions séculaires, la musique de BKO saura
vous transporter au sein d'un MALI actuel et urbain mais aussi dans les
profondeurs rituelles et mystiques des chasseurs animistes.
Comme en témoigne leur clip réalisé par Cris Ubermann sur le titre
"TANGWANANA" qui ouvre ce nouveau disque..
Dans ce nouvel album, BKO se frotte également à la chanson française et
propose un featuring émouvant avec Mathieu Boogaerts, rencontré sur la
route dans le sud de la France au retour d'un concert au festival Ibiza
Roots, World music under the stars.

Leur collaboration avec Piers Faccini sur le premier album avec le titre
"Donsolu" mais aussi avec le duo glamour BRIGITTE sur le titre "Hier
Encore", démontre que le sens créatif et l'ouverture d'esprit du groupe
laisse présager de nouvelles expériences.
