After LISLBAR finished the Compilation "Who's That Man - A Tribute To Conny Plank" in 2012, bohemian drips teamed up with Simon Clement aka ESCLÉ from Leipzig to do a Live Sessions Tour in five german cities.

One main aspect of the tour was a rework artist for each stop, who composed livesets based on digitalized material of the Conny Plank archives. Enjoy the rework from our lovely friends of Guenther Lause, who played after Embryo at Strom Club in munich.

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

Well, my name is Rory Hoy - I am a music producer and DJ from the UK. I have been producing and DJing since late 2005 and I have had 5 albums on Freddy Fresh’s Howlin’ Records label USA, countless singles, EP’s, remixes and collabos during that time on various worldwide labels. I’ve done music for Film, TV and Adverts such as Disney, Sony BET, Fox TV, Costco, ITV and BBC. You may have seen me perform in the UK at clubs and at major festivals such as Leeds Festival and the Tour De France Fan Park, where I played to over 20,000 people! I’ve been on UK and US TV, Radio and Press many times and I am also a multi-award winning film-maker. 

I have been collecting records since 1993 with my first record being “Boom, Shake The Room!” by Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince but I didn’t start getting into vinyl until early 1999 via my Dad’s collection. My record collection is quite expansive and extremely diverse ranging from fragile George Formby 78’s from the 1930’s to promos of the latest brand-new, up-to-the-minute dance stuff that isn’t even officially out yet! I am very proud of my collection and everywhere you go in my house, you’ll see records in every single room!

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

The 7 Inch singles format is great as it cuts out all the filler and is all killer - it’s perfect for Motown, Rock, Pop, Reggae etc and it’s very easy to see why this format is having such a resurgence! Some of my most treasured records are 7 inch singles, which I keep in a very special place in my bedroom.  

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

I wanted to do a showcase of some of the records that lie in my collection and put it all together in a somewhat coherent way. Some DJ’s like to only stay current and stick to just one sub-genre, but  I always try to incorporate a very broad range of music, just like if you see me DJing at a club or festival. This includes mixing the mainstream with the obscure, mixing old and new, and I wanted to see if I could link the mix together like a standard club mix rather than just simply going from Tune A to Tune B.
