From 1998 up to 2020 Boo Boo Davis used to tour in Europe several times each year and a lot of music was written and recorded during these tours. Covid-19 crated a (temporarily) stop to that tradition. But with the help of the internet and Chris Brown in St Louis, we started to exchange idea's and demo tapes with Boo Boo in East St Louis (USA) and our studio in the Netherlands.

Following this year’s Record Store Day reissues of ‘Miasma’ and ‘Inner Marshland’, The Bevis Frond will be reissuing their catalogue in the lead up to the 30th Anniversary next year.

The ‘Any Gas Faster’ reissue is released 29th July 2016 and  includes bonus recordings from one of The Bevis Frond’s first gigs as a band recorded in Copenhagen supporting The Hothouse Flowers – these tracks are taken from EP ‘Ear Song’. Also included are tracks from ‘Acid Jam’ (CD does not include Acid Jam).

Marcell “Talent” Cassanova is a multi-talented and versatile Singer, Producer, & Songwriter. From a cappella to Hip Hop there aren’t too many genres of music that he hasn’t worked in or been a part of.

Born in Atlanta and raised in Houston, Texas, music has been a part of his everyday life. At the age of 16, he began writing songs that would be featured on major commercial releases. He chased his music passion to college and before long was fully immersed in the art of music, performing solely under the alias “Talent”. Through local networking, he was introduced to other aspiring recording artists and after several more years of actively recording, he made his official solo debut with “Hidden Talents”. Shortly after, he collaborated in a group called MLM and released their first single, “When We Swang” ft. Billy Cook.

He’s recently spent the past few years promoting his 2016 release “Feel Good Music”, which contained collaborations with Billy Cook, Beanz & Kornbread, Christyle Trakz and Charles ‘Kizzo’ Kizzee.

Now, making the transition to “Marcell Cassanova”, he’s back with a new sound, as he is currently promoting his latest singles “Country & Southern Love", from the album entitled "Southern Love".

Compilation of tracks released by Burton Gaar on Black and Tan Records / CrossCut Records.
The tall Louisiana blues man Burton Gaar started playing bass guitar at age fourteen and at age eighteen Burton started singing on stage. As a young man, Burton was invited to join Slim Harpo's band as a bass player. In the 60's Burton and his band (Boogie Kings) were very active in the Louisiana R&B circuit. As the 70's Burton was forced to take a normal day job for a year. After this experience he was determined to be self supporting as a musician. He joined the band of Rockin' Sidney and he managed to make ends meet by either backing-up this zydeco superstar or playing with his own band. After recording his first CD "Still Singing The Blues" for Lanor Records Burton became firmly resolved to pursue his number one goal; making a name for himself. He recorded another CD (One Hundred Pounds Of Trouble) in Europe that was released in 1997. He did a few European tours during which he performed in Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Norway. Burton passed away in 2011 after a brief battle with cancer.

David Philips invites you to see things through optimistic, if rather idealistic eyes, in this positive take on quarantine and the effects it has had on the environment he lives in.  During quarantine Barcelona went from being a polluted, smelly, noisy tourist trap to a quiet, peaceful, friendly village with clean air and happy wildlife. The song is about that. David knows it's idealistic and unrealistic to think things could stay that way but hey, who said songs have to be realistic ? Except the drum track, which was lifted from an unreleased demo from 2017, the song was recorded and produced in his rooftop apartment in Barcelona, where David has spent the past few months writing and working on his bird artwork.
