I Hear You

Based on Ella Fitzgerald’s love of a stunning frock, ‘Stopping Traffic’ opens with the accordion of Alan Dunn, East End pugilist and sometime Bob Geldof and Rolf Harris accompanist, Taylor seemingly relishing ‘giving it some’ on electric guitar.

Stopping Traffic

From the opening notes of ‘I Don’t Forget’ it is easy to accept why Denise told the Edinburgh Fringe News that pedal steel player and old busking partner Max Moonlight ‘s playing “makes your hand stand on end”. Max learnt to make the pedal steel sing 20 years ago. He can be found busking on the streets of Oxford. This song is one  of the albums’ highlights.



I Don't Forget

‘Blokes’ – with Denise’s  “ I wanted love, but Ken talks dirty” opening exclamation - illustrates just one example of her canny self-observation, this time, perusing on the subject of men and an observation that is both playful and wistful.

Internet Junkie in the making

Black and Taylor are a new writing partnership between Denise Black and Graeme Taylor. 
They perform both as a duo and with their band The Loose Screw. 
Their first album 'Kiss The Joy' is to be launched in November 2012.
