Steppin’ out with their first VA release since the label’s inception in 1995, Worldship Music follows up the release of underground sensation Roberta’s The Brooklyn Ave Sessions with Herald Traccs Vol. 1. The record is a (mostly) LA based affair, starting with Jam’s Theme, a clever flip of a classic from veteran producer and former Underground Resistance member Santiago Salazar. Next up is En Echo, a deep and dubby affair from Echo Park’s Kelvin K, a seminal figure in SF’s early 00’s house scene. Label owners Teflon Dons open the B side with a tough, deep garage cut that would have likely set the UK garage scene on fire. Unfinished since '98, the Dons thankfully revisited this lost classic for some finishing touches. Rounding out the release is the mysterious Westcoast Goddess, whose First Tear emotes a melancholy beauty reminiscent of Hanna’s early work. Heading strong into their 26th year, underground house music is here to stay with Worldship. Look out for volume 2, the hunger continues…

They present the second of three exclusive vinyl releases, accompanying the mix CD for the 20-year compilation. On this volume, Turkish producer Sinan Kaya kicks off the A-side with the classic deep house vibe of "What's Mine is Mine" a sexy/smoky jam for the late night, Parisian Flabaire gets deep down and dusty (as always) on the jazzy "Riders In The Sun". Fede Lng returns to self-owned Axe On Wax with Flight Mode EP; a cloud drifting four cut EP containing two originals in which the man himself describes as "the most chilled stuff I've ever done". It's not gone without notice, with his two previous records now veering away from his hallmark dance-floor lead work and taking on a more considered melodic form. The two remaining tracks come from Ciel and Yu Su, who step up to remix duty this time round, showcasing two unsurprisingly beautiful re-imaginations of the original cuts. 

We're premiering Yu Su's version of Fede and Mojeaux's Flight Mode which transforms what is already a serene glide across the pale blue into something slightly more ethereal. Metronomic tribal percussion fills the majority of the mix which is then accompanied by softer hues of the original's melodic palette.

Greta probably wouldn't approve of cramming your little apartment with thousands of vinyl discs that will go to waste at some point. And honestly, does the world even need another record label? The answer is no. Except this brand new imprint right here is aiming to put things a bit into perspective. Bisiesto, meaning leapyear in Spanish will only issue its releases on every 29th of February. You know what that means - one release every four years. Less pollution, less redundancy, essential material that had its time to ripe, plus it's a fun idea, too. Bisiesto is run and curated by Carlo and will emphasize on the physical release on vinyl in limited editions of 366 pieces, hand numbered by the man himself. Bisiesto #1 is due with four jams by the label honcho that showcase his variety in an unprecedented manner. The laid back electro- and e-funk-induced groove of "Momo" opens that spectrum, maintaining Carlo's unmistakable feeling for soothing harmonies. enjoy :)

DJ Soch brings a touch of la dolce vita to Distant Hawaii. This glittering release cherry picks the best of house, jersey house and italo, stitching them together with adoration into irresistible grooves. Resident DJ of seminal Italian club, Serendipity, and founder of Black Angus Records, Soch’s effortlessly classy house has long set him apart as a mainstay in Native Italy. 

Opener ‘The Power of Poetry’ paves the way for the EP. A fine example of the rich sounds synonymous with DJ Soch, slinky keys marry velvety synths on this nonchalant, italo-influenced number. ‘Underground Night’ maintains the dreamhouse vibe; modest keys and nod to club Tropicana. ‘Peter Pan’ picks up the pace on the B-side but this laid-back, dreamy slice of house is reminiscent of sun soaked adventures. Arriving at the beach bar, dive into warm blissful waves of ‘Round the World’. Shimmery and twinkling until the bittersweet end, ‘Magic Flute’ spins a classic four to the floor formula into candy-floss, chopped up vox glistening over the infectious beat. The perfect sundowner.
