For our first Worldwide FM show of the year we were joined by San Francisco based, Irish/Iranian DJ @sineadj. Head of the Metropolis party out there, she's a wicked DJ to boot and provided a buttery house mix in the second hour with us on a similar tip in the first.

We are gassed to announce for the first time in our 21 year history, that we have 2 new residents joining us for 2023, one those being the evergreen One Glove NTS Radio host Macca. He steps up for #2 of our mix series with a mix, which in his own words is:

‘A nice chance to step away from my usual breakfast show endeavours and lay down a mix in one take without the safety net of a microphone or the chatroom crew to fall back on. This mix features, and is inspired by, friends and family who’ve put me onto music that consistently hits the soul. Every single track has aired at some point on One Glove in the past 15 months so it’s equally good for waking up to as it is for getting down on the floor. Just move ya feet and enjoy it - don’t overthink it.’

Secretsundaze Mix Series #2: Macca

In this episode I was able to welcome the guys behind a wicked little deep house label called Ordinaire Records, based out of Strasbourg in France. Rony, Alex and Thomas have been putting on parties in their area and have their third vinyl release baking in the oven right now. I’ve played both their previous releases on my past shows so it’s been a pleasure to have them on to lay down 90 mins of their signature sound. Listening back to their mix brought out a lot of nostalgia for me as they touch on some of the sounds I was really into (and still am!) during my formative years in the early 2000s, with records from Inland Knights, JT Donaldson, EBE and more. They’ve also managed to squeeze in a preview of their next EP so make sure you check out the mix and the full track listing below!

Who else sounds like Larry Heard? In the late 1980s, The Chicago house producer was one of the first artists – initially as a part of Fingers, Inc., and then as a solo act – to truly stamp their own unique aesthetic onto the nascent style of electronic dance music. Favouring lush instrumentation, foggy chords and dreamy melodies over the more mechanic pounding of many of his counterparts, he inspired the "deeper" sounds of the midwest's second wave, and generations of young clubbers elsewhere around the world.
