Here we go with another installment of my brother Colin Dale's infamous "Abstract Dance" Radio Show on London's KISS FM.
On thiz show, Colin features Detroit's Theo Parrish fresh from thee airport with jet lag & still rockin' it like only he can. 
Also a nice interview with Theo. I like what Theo says about the beats on Techno slowed down & having more room for the frequencies to spread, giving that kick that nice punch. For those who know me well & ever heard my past live techno set's in clubs & radio shows... I agree with Theo 100 %!! I have been doing the same right from the beginning & when I make muzik.

If you know, you know: Mr. G is one of dance music’s true originals. From the early days in the legendary KCC crew and his influential work as half of The Advent, to decades of solo output under his own name, Colin McBean has never strayed from his roots. With releases on Rekids, Moods ‘n’ Grooves, Defected, and his own long-running Phoenix G imprint, his raw, bass-heavy electronic-tech-funk sound has moved floors and minds all over the world.

Now, for one of his rare mixtape appearances, we’re honored to share this special vinyl-only piece from his archive.

Recorded on two Technics 1210's and a Rane MP2015 mixer and mixed down to CD with added weight, the mix had been sleeping for years until Mr. G pressed play and surprised even himself. It’s meditative, deep, and packed with the personality you only get when the machines are running hot. It captures the raw energy, honesty, and unmistakable feel that only Mr. G can deliver: just pure groove, and even a cheeky cable cut halfway through that adds to the charm.

It’s not often he shares this side, so we’re grateful he let us dig it out. For us, it’s a perfect snapshot of where he comes from and what he still brings to the table today. A true original.

SPND20 Mixtape by Mr. G

Departing the cool summer nights and hazy heat of Sunday mornings dancing at Panorama Bar in Berlin, in August of 2011 I was in Ibiza, staying at the DC-10 crew house with my friend and EDEC label partner Andrew Grant. Enjoying the Mediterranean vibes, I took to the airwaves of @ibizaglobalradio one sultry afternoon. This is the recording of that broadcast - a slow, deliberate, summery groove, weaving through airy dub, simmering house, and psychedelic techno.

Ahead of his appearence at Tresor's 313 Movement party at Tangent Galley in Detroit later this month we present a new live mix by cult Chicago DJ, Justin Aulis Long.

Longtime a fan favorite, this recording took place during the witching hours at Interdimensional Transmissions’ Midwest Freaks gathering in Detroit on March 17th 2018.

Within the vast caverns of the smoky room, asymmetrical forms draped from the ceiling. They seemed †o feel confused between being paranormal life form and architecture.

Towers of speakers hovered in the dark corners. Ferociously voicing their titanic presence, while making no apologies. Transmitting various alchemical equations, amalgamated by the selector.
Uncanny lighting provided a psychedelic and mystical atmosphere. Calling attention to themselves, and then quickly vanishing into thin air. 
For many of us mutant kids, this is home.

The fifth episode of the 909 podcast series is from Philadelphia’s born Josh Wink. The label boss of Ovum Recordings always knows how to stay on the fine line between House and Techno. You can definitely hear this in tracks of him like “Dont Laugh” and “Higher state of Consciousness”. It was a pleasure to have Josh Wink back again behind the decks at 909 Festival.
