Call it female instinct; she knew something wasn't right. It happened years and years ago, the memory had been buried deep in the back of her mind, and with it the overwhelming guilt. She'd assumed she'd made it over the hurdle of being found out, that any chance of the truth coming out had long died out, but recently something told her that people knew. Slight glances, blunt interactions, distant relationships; these all led her to believe one thing, it was only a matter of time before the truth reared its ugly head.

What started out as an event series in their home of Kyiv is now being expanded by co-bosses Kostya Kottov and Techija to include a fresh label. Much like the sounds and styles that Povilno have championed through their parties, the inaugural outing - a compilation featuring artists from across the globe - concerns itself with psychedelic rhythms, leftfield downtempo and hypnotic slow burners. There's music from Inside Out co-founders Stevie R and Parisinos, from Lithuanian talent Roe Deers, Povilno label mate ID_UA and many more, who all help set the tone for what we can expect from the label in the future.

This promising Israeli talent delivers two slow burning tracks oozing with eastern influence and informed by the modern sounds of dance. Part of the 84% Creativity crew, Naduve presents his second release with Cocktail d'Amore in the form of a two track EP which revels in it's dark and seductive energy. "No Good News" builds over it's 7-minute run layering mystic vocal synths and coupling them with splashing hats and tight shakers to give just enough beat driven energy to keep a crowd to attention. The flying guitars and staccato synths of "A Trip In Tel Aviv" slither over half beat percussive structures to give this track a sinister feel ideal for late, late, late nights. Wunderkind Man Power drops a tab on "A Trip..." giving it a fresh take perfect for psychedelically inclined moments.

Some things just make sense and we’re pleased present the first collaboration of 2 of our favourite artists : RED AXES & C.A.R. 
This release has been a long time coming. Tracks were first exchanged back in 2014 and it’s been an organic, intuitive process. Like-minded musically & likeminded lyrically - Red Axes & C.A.R. seem to work the same way. Recordings happen fast. One or two takes. It’s punk and it’s effortless. 
1960’s, psychedelic 2040 arrived on queue. A sweaty, London-summer evening, after spending the day writing alone out Hackney Marshes, Chloé demo’d the vox. - languid, nostalgic, at arm’s reach from the city - the track depicted the moment perfectly. A paper thin Victorian wall separating her from the chatting neighbours, she shut her eyes and got as close to the mic as possible. 
A few weeks Red Axes & C.A.R. were together in Tel Aviv. Ten times sweatier than London. To say the studio was dripping hot is an understatement. There was a party heaving in the square below, a van parked in the middle, broadcasting out on the radio waves. Dori was determined to use the intimate London vocals for 2040 and so they cracked on with Incognito, a club track that isn't one but works in its own way: rockabilly reverbs, an almost hip-house delivery, the strange alchemy of 808 fumes. Already inebriated from the city, Chloé had written her words off-cuff in the hotel room, just hours before.
Fastforward a year. Summer 2015. Niv had sent Space Cream a few months earlier - an electronic 4/4 ballad which already featured looped samples of some of the stuff they’d recorded in Israel. Heady and sticky, Chloé had to wait for longer days before she could get anything down.
Finally XMan, descends further down into psychedelia… Perfect for the London winter closing in. Heads filled with Cookie Mueller & memories of losing oneself in dark, basement parties - the words rolled off the tongue. 
Last autumn Red Axes invited C.A.R. down to London’s Pickle Factory to perform Incognito live. During soundcheck she penned some words for a new track they were debuting, which they also ended up doing. It’s an experience synonymous for this collaboration. What comes easy, makes sense.

The wide hallways echoed with the sound of footsteps upon the marble floor. The pitter patter reverberated and bounced between statues and elegant decor. This was a museum of old and new art, of old and new people and of past meets present. They wandered aimlessly along vast sprawling corridors taken in by the luxurious paintings and the hollow technology which illuminated it all. Perhaps museums had been better in a past life, not like they were now. 

Malka Tuti is set to release a new LP from Die Orangen in the coming weeks. Titled "Zest" the release will be available from the 18th of July.
