Volster has been making a name for himself as an artist dedicated to the groove, delivering consistent quality both in terms of music and events. His "all hands on deck" approach has him involved in the entire process, from producing the bangers to playing the decks in the club as well as planning the parties themselves. His efforts have spawned two promising labels, Secession and Out of Place, pushing his style of warm, organic, mlnimalistic techno.  It is a style he grew up enjoying during the 90's and has refined since then, picking up certain elements and refining others, until he found the sound he can finally call his own. Labels like Edit Select or Vakuum have already signed his work, and many more are certainly to come. The croatian maestro has been all over Europe playing in some of the best clubs, even Berghain, and has build up the successful "TRAUM" party series, hosting some of the best artists in the game. We are super hyped to present the 72nd edition featuring an hour of incredible blends from the creative 4-deck mastermind Jan Goertz! 

Jan Goertz's creative work is largely driven by the desire to test and redefine his limits in competition with technology. This is one of the reasons why he is known for his 4-deck mixes containing a multitude of tracks. First two and then three players simply became too boring for him. The motivation to DJ, however, also comes from the calmness that is triggered in his otherwise very bustling head during the process. And of course the fun! His goal in djing is the creation of an "endless groove". 

By breaking up track structures, Jan wants to form a mix as a "unity from its individual parts, instead of just stringing songs together". He prefers to play with four players. "Vinyl is cool but more for house and smoother techno :D".

Primarily, Jan draws inspiration from the club context - both as a guest and as an artist. For him, techno is first and foremost "functional and works for and in a club. That's what this music is made for."

Key moments for the DJ, who has been active since 2013, were his 10.5-hour set at Geheimclub Magdeburg and the sprawling back to backs with Rod_a and Morgenstern. His role models are DVS1, Ben Klock and ROD.

Next up on the Raserei podcast series is the french Berlin-based DJ and producer Marsch. After starting producing 5 years ago, she released on well-known labels such as SYXT or Room Trax. Before that, she focused for a few years on music curation, writing various press releases, interviewing artists, and in recent times she is also appearing behind the decks in multiple clubs. Her sound, also represented in her productions, is characterized by deep rhythms and blurry vocals which she is recording herself! In this podcast, she showcases her selection and vision as an artist to the last detail.

I am usually not a fan of sharing online the experience of a live set. The emotion, energy and aurea of that moment is something that cannot be grasped with a simple click. 
However, since the moment I touched the decks during this mix, I intuitively knew it was going to be something special… something which I would be happy for those who were not there to partially feel, listen and enjoy. This set includes a selection of my favorite tracks from this year -some older some newer- and all fundamental to create a linear, coherent story.

She started DJing at 19 drawing inspiration mainly from powerful-based techno rhythms and melodic pads.

Now, only aged 24, emblematic dance floors such as Berghain's,Tresor's and Basement’s have already been witnesses of the vivid and energetic force that surrounds the Spanish native's sets.

For this month Black Owls welcomes this young artist from Paris.

A.mo is an assertive artist with a dark yet always vibrant universe. Passionate about electronic music for many years, she found a new way to express herself behind the turntables, allowing her to reveal the other side of her personality. 

 Coming from a classical music and dance background, she also developed a sense of rhythm and percussion that shapes her musical aesthetic. She takes pleasure to build incisive sets intended to transport us, playing fast-paced mental techno, between percussive grooves and dark atmospheres, building percussive sets intended to transport us. 

She shared the bill with renowned artists like Setaoc Mass, Marcel Dettmann or Adriana Lopez. 
A.mo is also an After ‘O’Clock resident at Glazart Paris and a member of the Vénus Club, a women's collective of DJs and professionals of the electronic industry.

V:SONNTAG joins for DifferentSound Podcast #195.

VSONNTAG is a DJ from Leipzig. She started DJing techno in 2019. In the meantime, she has already played in well-known clubs like Tresor and Rote Sonne. Since 2023 she has been part of Sinus Agency. Her tracks are constant and driving, with rhythmic elements. With a combination of energy and groove, she has conquered the hearts of the techno community.
