Year 1997, the underground techno parties of czech sound systems Mayapur, Technical Support and Cirkus Alien, had influenced his musical and intellectual attitude. Being interested in a lot in electronic dance music he took a two-month course of Djing for beginners in 1999, where he actually touched decks and dj mixer for the first time. After realising that he does not want to be just a party-goer but wants to take an active part in organising parties, he bought a dj setup and, according to his clear idea and musical taste, selects vinyls and begins to develop his own sound, which he describes as "music with soul" or "colorful techno”. His involvement in Prague’s now non-existent record store TSP vinyl shop also contributed to his musical inspiration.
In 2000, Dj Ghandi, together with his closest friends, founded Spiritual Sound System, which is still very active nowadays, and has a long list of past successful parties all over the Czech Republic. Spiritual sound system originated from the love of music and the friendship of the people who make up this sound system. Those two important principles are reflected in the vibe of the Spiritual parties.
Another important moment came in 2008, when he co-founded the regular radio show Acidelika on Prague’s Radio 1 station, which in 2011 transforms into regular club parties and an outdoor festival hosting lots of foreign guests. Dj Ghandi feels very honored to play alongside his many role-model djs and producers such as Neil Landstrumm, Dapayk, Bruno Pronsato, Radioactive man, Jerome Hill, Paul Birken, Ben Pest, Lukes Anger, Tobias Schmidt, Dave Tarrida and others.
After 21 years of active djing, Dj Ghandi remains faithful to playing from records despite all the music technology advancements. He's never focused on one musical genre, so you can hear him playing styles such as oldschool acid techno, minimal, tech-house, but also raw breaks and slow oldschool electro.

He has always enjoyed and found it more meaningful to play varied music that has soul and a story behind it. He remembers doing his first event 20 years ago with the Spiritual sound system, how some people were annoyed to the point of outrage that he was playing slowly. At that time, the soundsystems were monotonous, hard and fast techno with a few dnb sounds in between. He didn't care at all and stuck to his taste and direction, no matter what the result. Today he is very happy for that. "People should do things the way they feel and not conform to trends." DJ Gándhí concludes.

Sound Synthesis & Acidulant - Live @ Acid Night

After living in the past 3 decades in cities such as Venice, Miami, Berlin, Istanbul and most recently Marseille and being a bit influenced from each one of these places (plus his beautiful country of origin), the Albanian dj has developed his own  unique style of clockwork vinyl only mixing, with a selection that ranges from Techno to Drum n Bass and whatever else lies in between, sometimes hitting the house spectrum to add color to his sets which are always energetic and mental, a bit dark at times but always uplifting.

His love for mixing started back in 2004 when he was not even 18 yet, but the real turning point was when, after working one summer between school, the son of migrants was finally able to afford a pair of bad functioning 5th hand turntables and an old Stanton mixer.
This was the beginning of the end for him, from then on he was completely hooked on music and working hard in his daily jobs to support his main passion of digging into record shops around the world.
In 2015 things started to get finally a bit of a professional turn, when some gigs started to pop up and some collaborations and affiliations started (first affiliation ever was the Berlin’s infamous crew Lounge Squatt, a team he still calls family). He played in various parties in and around Berlin, in Istanbul, in his homeland of Albania and also in Kosovo, plus off course in Italy too and collected a remarkable series of important experiences which shaped the next step in his career: starting his own party series.
After moving in France during the pandemic of covid19, Avni forced at home brain stormed together with his wife in how to create a new series of events that can stand out from the masses, using the little funds available to them they launched Paroxysm Ltd, a party series and soon a vinyl only label based on the concept “no cdjs, no posers, only vinyl or analog machines” that will host events in France and abroad, completely independent, DIY and with a “no sponsor” policy, the two founders were able to secure for all the season 2022-2023 one of the best spaces available in Marseille for a monthly party, something very rare in the city of Marseille which is about to bring great surprises to the local scene.
