This folk song - Akh, ulitsa, ulitsa shirokaya (Ах, улица, улица широкая) was probably brought from Russia to Israel by immigrants and became a popular singalong piece in the middle of the 20th century. Black Velvet's arrangement includes a tune of a Welsh song and another tune composed by Ehud Nathan.

This is Black Velvet's take on an Israeli song, written by Shimrit Orr, music by Yehudit Ravitz. The song depicts the grim fate of young Druze widows who, according to Druze tradition, cannot marry again.
