s the #ForTheMusic campaign to end harassment within the music industry continues, its instigator, Rebekah, announces a 38 track fundraising compilation entitled 'End The Silence'. Released via the British artist's Elements Records imprint on November 26th, the collection features an array of techno talent who have donated tracks to the cause. Sunil Sharp, AISHA, AnD, Manni Dee, Charlton, Alpha Tracks & Blue Hour are just a handful of artists featured across the release, which will fund an educational drive to implement new systems, guidelines and support networks aimed at minimising harassment.

Shlomi Aber makes his debut on Drumcode Ltd with a piercing four-tracker for the vinyl only offshoot.

Israel’s Shlomi Aber remains of techno’s most consistent artists, with a career stretching back 15 years. The label boss of Be As One, Aber has also had his music released on such imprints as R&S, Figure and Ovum, reinforcing his status as a purveyor of classy yet impactful techno. 

His contribution to Drumcode Ltd puts a fresh take on the classic pounding DC sound of the label’s early years, an era the DJ/producer has long been a fan of. Beginning with ‘Inflict’, the EP lays down its heavy-hitting intentions from the onset, as a persistent muffled vocal build beneath a bed of steely percussion, creating a dark tension-filled atmosphere. ‘Accelerator’ follows, the title track that was quite literally born at Basel’s own techno temple Nordstern this year when Aber crafted it into a stunning cavernous beast, using his 909 and XOXBOX Acid machine. ‘Typeface’ is stripped back and functional, an energy-packed tool for building extended techno journeys. The four-piece is rounded out by the fantastic ‘Rain Storm’, that lowers the intensity, as the six-minute cut introduces a new groovier element to the work and concludes the EP is sharp fashion.

The Black Asteroid debut 'The Engine EP' was released on CLR in 2011 and since has topped many techno dj and beatport charts and is regarded as one of the most daring and successful techno releases of 2011.

Mancunian maestro Setaoc Mass return for his second outing on Soma with the Fortnight EP. Drenched in his typical hard hitting yet meticulous produced style, Sam drops 4 top quality tracks and includes a special bonus track for the digital EP. 

Time opens the EP with a particularly hypnotic sound and a definite driving pace as swelling and pulsing background atmospheres give this a quite aggressive backbone. Bluebells is yet another dance floor rocking track that hits the ground running right from the start. Razor sharp polyrhythmic structures keep the track interesting while intense percussive workouts provide the power. Title track Fortnight delves deeper whilst still remaining true to Sam’s direct and tough sound; don’t let this deeper side fool you, all the hallmarks of a proper banger remain intact! Chaos closes out things with a more groove laden and emotive tone as shuffling percussive elements funk things up before subtle synths work their way in giving the track a more melodic feel than the previous. Digital Bonus, Necessary Evil, is a straight up, no nonsense dance floor workout.
