On today's new track and the collaboration with ACTORS, Bryan Black (aka Black Asteroid) shares: "During Covid, I went back to my love and passion for songs. For vocals. For danger. For soul. I discovered ACTORS around this time, and sent the singer an instrumental I had been picking at for a few years. He sent it back, and with a guitar too!"

Returning for the seventh edition of the beloved WE ARE NOT ALONE compilation series, Ellen Allien and BPitch Berlin curate an unmissable collection of twelve new tracks celebrating the global underground that has influenced the label since its inception. 
Due out in May, it is to be followed by two further installments landing later this year.

With the announcement of this ambitious new compilation, BPitch continue to expand on their limitless roster, providing a reflection of the artists who have been involved in the WE ARE NOT ALONE event series from across the world. 
These events put a kaleidoscopic lens to electronic music from all over, championing a vision of culture that is far-reaching and inclusive in both spirit and sound. 
With contributions from rising talents and established heroes alike, WE ARE NOT ALONE Vol. 7 is a testament to the pluralism of one of electronic music’s most beloved record labels, and the family of artists that make it what it is.

Opening the proceedings is label founder Ellen Allien with ‘Kyiv’ - a brand new cut that weaves a vast pool of sonic references for the power hour. 
There are touches of acid, dub, breaks, and trance, but genre titles become futile when it’s ultimately a sound completely her own. 
Next up is a slice of the Stockholm underground with Andree Bohlin and Billie Jo teaming up for a high speed journey through big beats and hammerdrill piano licks. 
Warsaw- born producer Sept then provides some maximal trance for the weirder hours.

DJ Physical applies a romantic vision of techno, drenched in melancholy and geared towards the senses on the seductive ‘Scary Night’. 
WTCHCRFT brings us into murkier analogue territory with ‘Unusual Photograph’, a fusion of chopped vocals and hard-edged percussive loops from the New York underground fixture. 
Slowing things down a touch, the legendary Rhys Fulber of Front Line Assembly offers up a chugging, cyclical dose of arpeggiated industrialism.

Naix - also known as revered Scottish electro maestro Galaxian - takes a chainsaw to the production booth on the searing ‘Current-Gen’. 
Berlin’s own Lucinee lifts things up to the skies with a glistening cut of trance radiation, before REÄKTTOR, hailing from Colombia, presents a darkened dose of cybergoth realness on the weighty ‘Il Oscuro’.

Ayako Mori and Raul Alvarez plunge straight back into a cavernous warehouse with ‘Departure To (360 mix)’, Lady Maru - a Berlin resident with a background as a guitarist, noise musician and more - puts together a no-nonsense barrage of hard techno on ‘Don’t Cross The Line’. 
Rounding off the compilation is Under Black Helmet’s ‘Stargazer’, a levitational voyage into a different dimension.

Just as the WE ARE NOT ALONE event series connects the dots between a sprawling and passionate network of countercultural misfits, their compilation series offers a snapshot into the true underground of electronic music today.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the American dj & producer Black Asteroid (Artoffact Records / CLR).

Bryan Black aka Black Asteroid started his music career as a sound designer and keyboard tech for Prince at Paisley Park Studios in his hometown of Minneapolis. 
While working for Prince, Black proceeded to create his own music under the name Haloblack and then Motor for labels such as Mute and Kompakt.

These records caught the ear of Martin Gore from Depeche Mode. Soon after, Black was on tour with Depeche Mode and recording songs with Martin Gore. 
Together Black and Gore wrote a top 40 single “Man Made Machine”.

In 2011, the debut Black Asteroid single, “Engine 1” introduced Black Asteroid to the world - a unique industrial techno sound that quickly took off, propelling Black to play at clubs such as Berghain and Tresor in Berlin, Khidi In Tbilisi, Fabric and Fold in London and countless major festivals, including being a face of Amsterdam Dance Event. 
The focus was in favor of song structures and vocals in a techno template.

After a string of critically acclaimed EPs on CLR and Electric Deluxe, the debut album “Thrust” was released in 2017 with many cross over singles, featuring vocals from Zola Jesus, Cold Cave and Michele Lamy.

The fashion designer Rick Owens picked up on what was happening, and used Black's music for his runway shows in Paris. The two quickly became friends and collaborators.

In addition to working in the fashion world, BLACK ASTEROID has released a collection of sunglasses with Valley Eyewear and also soundtracked a collection for the designer Raf Simons.

In 2023, Black Asteroid released 2 EPs- “Acid Flesh” on CLR, and “New Flesh” on Pls.Uk - showcasing a more experimental sound, utilizing vocals and guitars.

In early 2024, Black Asteroid will release a string of new singles followed by the second album, “Infinite Darkness” on Art of Fact records. 
This highly anticipated album was produced over the span of 5 years, and will feature some incredible talent such as Ian Astbury of The Cult, Actors, Louisahhh, Michele Lamy, Front Line Assembly, BLUSH_RESPONSE and Speedy J.

This truly original, crossover record, goes where techno has never gone before.

Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Rhys Fulber' gem on 'Artoffact Records'.

Fêted electronic artist Rhys Fulber takes you further back and forward with his first solo release for Artoffact, Memory Impulse Autonomy. 
The album harks back to the music that Fulber made in his youth inspired by bands such as Cabaret Voltaire, Portion Control and fellow Vancouverites Skinny Puppy but blends those influences with the brutalist rhythms and harsh industrial techno that he has been pioneering in recent years.

Thematically, the record explores his joy of creating music for the first time in the Eighties using primitive equipment with a freedom of expression driven only by his imagination.

’‘The title refers to fond memories of my roots in making electronic music and the excitement and passion I had for these sounds that were new at the time,’‘ Fulber says. 
‘‘That style is embedded in me.  Going back to them allowed me to make music on impulse, and many of the instrumentals were created from studio jams.’‘

While there are distinct nods to the past in the gnarly Richard H Kirk-esque cut ups of All Of You Go To Heaven and Baaderzeit’s eerie Tangerine Dream-like sequences, the album is also very much a modernist collaborative effort, utilising voices from the forefront of contemporary electronic music including William Maybelline (Qual/Lebanon Hanover), Years of Denial’s Barkosina and Hamburg-based aufnahme+wiedergabe recording artist Konstantin Unwohl.
