Subsquad Prod present the part #12 of our serie of compilations, the 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐒𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐃. Each part presents the dub makers of a city (and its surroundings) through a compilation of 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 available for free download.

This twelfth edition is dedicated to 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐚 and presents 11 producers from this area.

The new artwork is realized by Gseb, the mastering by Subsquad Prod.

As usual, the compilation is available for free download, but you can donate to support us & help to perpetuate the project.

Pas de formule figée, juste l’envie de s’amuser avec les codes, d’explorer et de créer sans contrainte. Un projet sincère, libre, et plein de clins d’œil aux musiques qui les ont forgés.

Auditeur de reggae de longue date, il découvrit son plus proche descendant, le "Dub" dans les festivals 
isérois, en 2014. 
Tombant sous le charme de l'énergie qu'il apportait au public, il commença rapidement à composer ses propres morceaux sur ordinateur, tout en se procurant une fine collection de vinyle, qu'il pu jouer sur la sono qu'il fabriqua avec son crew, "BDF Sound System".
Il cultive dans ses prods, une esthétique organique et hypnotique, influencée par des pionniers du genre comme Alpha steppa, Aba shanti ou Panda dub.

He asked my name, but I forgot to speak,
He said, “That’s cool, man — words are for the weak.”
Then time slowed down, the rug began to groove,
And I swear that carpet started to move.

Bowling with the Dude, in a cosmic lane,
He rolls the truth, and nothing’s the same,
Strike after strike, he’s bending the rules,
I lost my mind, but I found it was cool.

We drifted through smoke where nihilists cried,
They wanted the money, but the dream had died.
He said, “That’s just, like, your opinion, man,”
And offered me peace in an old tin can.
I sipped the stars, I heard the pins collide,
Walter yelled something about “marking it right!”
And in that roar of chaos and booze,
I learned to chill — had nothing to lose.

Bowling with the Dude

The Black Beanie Dub project was born at the end of 2016 in the south of France, near Marseille. After playing and composing together in their youth, the two friends, composers, and sound system enthusiasts released their first album and quickly set out to build the sound system of their dreams: the Black Beanie Sound.

Over the years, they have leveraged their musical experience and skills by collaborating with some of the biggest French dub labels (ODG, Rootical Attack Records) as well as with dozens of international and local artists, singers, and instrumentalists to make sound systems come alive. Their warm-sounding music is played on a sound system that is thoughtfully designed and handmade, complemented by the medium-high frequency section of the famous Black Board Jungle Sound.

Today, Black Beanie Dub continues to create and share their music, both online and in sound system sessions.
