SERA009: Satellite Era presents "Ängel EP," our newest collection of ethereal, garage-influenced tracks from Nils Kirchberg, best known as @LazarusMoment.

Following up on his contribution to our Distant Arrays series earlier this year, Swedish producer Lazarus Moment returns to deliver his first full project for Satellite Era - six breathtaking songs that capture the essence of his main alias. Each release of his feels like an enhancement to the foundation of his core influences, ranging from familiar UK garage (UKG) tactics to a more emotive ambient experience. Continuing to float above the surface of the future garage movement, his newest EP is a promising step towards becoming a household name in the subgenre.

"Ängel EP" is a story that touches on a more personal level, far past Lazarus Moment himself - being lost in a forest surrounded by lively greenery, angelic sounds gently entering the soundscape, and a lush ambiance that feels comforting yet thought-provoking. Each track seems open-ended and interpretable yet also provides its own lore for the listener to unveil. Though most feel nostalgic and sentimental, others take on a serious mood - the title song "Ängel" blends emotive pads with a hollow four-by-four kick that conveys a unique, techno-like experience. Tracks like "Never Return" and "All Things Pass" are a clear nod to the pioneers of this recognizable UKG sound - Burial, Sorrow, and Vacant quickly come to mind. The project ends with "Unforgiven," memorable for its distant tones as it slows the EP down in tempo and fades into the abyss.

In simplest terms, Lazarus Moment has put his best foot forward with "Ängel EP." Being able to transparently convey his UKG influences, all while creating a living and breathing forest of his own makes this release monumental for his journey. The byproduct is some of his greatest and most matured work yet.

What is Future Garage?
The recent years have seen a huge explosion in mainstream acceptance of Dubstep which remained relatively underground for a number of years before really being accessible to the general public. Now you may have heard people speaking of Future Garage, also sometimes referred to as Post-Dubstep creeping into the light that Dubstep has opened up.
Future Garage is a current movement of producers from around the globe, taking it back to its UK Garage/Dark Swing/2-Step/Bass driven roots away from the current influx of the over-used Wobble and fusing it with Detroit and Dub-Techno making futuristic and often very off kilter modern rhythmic production styles.
