“Superbrains'' is a showcase for the Berlin-based, inclusive music project Ick Mach Welle, an initiative which has been bringing together musicians, with and without visible disabilities, for the last 5 years. Featuring solo artists and musical collaborations with very different approaches to creating music, this compilation highlights the results of the workshops and mentoring programs provided by Ick Mach Welle throughout these years. The tracks featured on this release range across the musical spectrum from the wildly experimental, to dub and electronica, to driving techno and rave, reflecting the diversity of the participants and the inclusivity of the Ick Mach Welle project. The emotions revealed through the music contained herein provide the listener with an insight into the lives of the people who created them, people whose voices far too often go unheard. The artwork comes from Brussels artist Elzo Durt, who has provided Killekill with his psychedelic collages several times in recent years.

"Loefah has changed UK club music forever – several times. His re-imagination of Jungle marked the transition from upbeat “ongibongi” to the halfstep bass-bin tremblers that people commonly associate with Dubstep’s golden era. Take the classic remix of D1’s “Crack Bong” for example, retrieved by Version from dubplate a couple of years back, and you get the picture. Loefah’s own Swamp 81 label, starting in 2009, paved the way for a new generation of producers on the intersection of Techno, House and what he himself coined as “post-dubstep”. A long-lasting collaboration with Orson and Hops emerged in a series of wild mid-week events at OHM 2015-16, bringing artists like Mala, Chunky or Josey Rebelle to our beloved living room. For the final Version of 2023, things come full cycle again: Loefah is back for an exclusive DJ set, his first in Berlin in 6 years."

Werner aka Bläck Dävil ist ein eigensinniger und ungewöhnlicher Typ, den man sowohl als Person als auch als Künstler so schnell nicht wieder aus seinem Kopf bekommt. Sein Motto könnte lauten: Aus Scheiße Gold machen. Oder aus kaputten Computern (halbwegs) funktionierende. Oder aus einem gefundenen Plattenspieler ein paar Euros. Irgendwie geht es immer weiter und Werner steht nie still, er macht Tauschgeschäfte mit der halben Stadt, und irgendwie schafft er es immer, sich alles zusammenzusammeln, was er braucht, um weiter Musik zu machen. 1998 auf der Loveparade, als 14 Jähriger, zwischen Siegessäule und Tiergarten, zwischen „Over the Rainbow“, „Computerstaat“ und „How Much Is The Fish“ hat er seine Liebe für brummende Bässe und schnelle Beats entdeckt. Seitdem durchforstet er die Plattenläden Berlins nach Samples, die er zerhacken und zerstören kann, Schneller, Härter, Lauter sampelt er aus allen Genres seinen Mix zusammen: Schlager, Hip Hop, Gabber, Hard Tek, Metal, Punk, Rap werden zum tanzbaren eklektischen Amalgam: bunt zusammengewürfelt, eigensinnig, ungehört, mutig und irgendwie klingt das alles wie eine einzige große Party.

Seit 2018 ist Werner auch Teil des Projektes Ick mach Welle! und hat sich auch in diesen Kontexten auf der Bühne ausprobiert. Wer Bläck Dävil live gesehen und gehört hat, weiß von der einzigartigen Energie, die er auf den Dancefloor bringt, sei es hinter einer Drum Machine, einem Synthesizer oder am Mikro. Bläck Dävil ist der Derwisch, der Dich zum Lachen und zum Tanzen bringt.

Nach einer Kollaboration mit dem Experimental-Musiker MFX im Jahre 2020 gab es 2021 eine Kollaboration mit DJ Normal 4 im Rahmen des Warning-Showcases für das PopKultur-Festival. Ein Release wird nicht mehr lange auf sich warten lassen.
