After almost 4 years break since their latest album the Danish-Swedish indierock band Black Light White Light returns with the single Epilepsy taken from the band’s forthcoming 4th album, The Admirer. 

Delayed and challenged by a worldwide pandemic and closed borders between Denmark and Sweden, that forced the band to find new, creative solutions to complete the recordings, the band is now ready with their most personal and probably most versatile album to date. 

This is very much reflected in Epilepsy, an adventurous spherical and cinematic dreamy outing, which also reflects bandleader and songwriter Martin Ejlertsen’s most personal lyrics presented yet, here evolving around the helplessness, the fear of loss and death and the enormous love he experiences every time his daughter, who suffers from epilepsy, gets an epileptic seizure.

In May 2013 the band went into the studio to start the recordings for the sophomore album. This time it was chosen to record home in Copenhagen, Denmark.

From the renowned World’s End Management Martin was introduced to the Grammy-Award nominated producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith (Trails of Dead, The Dandy Warhols, Ringo Deathstarr, Jet etc.) who immediately connected with the band and the new demos he was introduced to.

Just a few months later Chris "Frenchie" Smith flew in from Austin, TX to live and work with the band for 12 intense days, where the tight group of new friends breathed music, recording long days turning into nights to creating 12 new songs for an album that would become wilder, more exploratory and adventurous than the debut.

'Gold Into Dreams' also introduce first guest appearance on the band's recordings from Grammy Award-winning string composer Davide Rossi (Coldplay, Goldfrapp) and Danish/Iranian sitar player Atusa Zamani.  

The album is mastered at The Lodge, NYC by chief mastering engineer Emily Lazar (Foo Fighters, David Bowie, Lou Reed, The Raveonettes, Vampire Weekend, Morrissey etc.) who's the first ever female mastering engineer to win Grammy of the Year (with Foo Fighters), giving the album the final magic touch.

Black Light White Light is the musical project of Danish/ Swedish songwriter Martin Ejlertsen based in Malmo.

The band revolves around a penchant for alternative dream pop indie rock with a psychedelic flavor enveloped with pervasive melancholy and a Scandinavian noir vibe.

The Admirer follows the band's latest album, critically acclaimed Horizons (2018). Second album Gold into Dreams (2014) was recorded with American producer Chris Frenchie Smith (And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Jet) while the debut album Infrared Daylight (2011) came to light in Los Angeles, CA with producer Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Dandy Warhols).

In the past years, Black Light White Light have toured USA, UK, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and played around Scandinavia consistently, sharing the bill with internationally acclaimed bands like Crocodiles (US), The Telescopes (UK), Crystal Antlers (US), Damo Suzuki (ex-Casn) and The Soundtrack Of Our Lives (S).
