Black Lion Productions founder RL is one of the more promising independent artists to emerge from the Canadian hip hop scene in recent memory. For the past several years he has been steadily building a reputation as a dynamic producer and clever lyricist whose songs are as entertaining as they are inspiring.

RL's career launched in 2015 with the release of his first mixtape ‘The Prodigy and The Architect.’  With its intricate lyrical flow and R&B inspired/Melodic production, it earned instant acclaim, leading to profile raising appearances at Canadian Music Week showcases alongside frequent collaborator, Heny. RL continued to build momentum producing his debut EP ‘FREE ASSOCIATION’ in 2018 which features several notable collaborators including Ray Robinson and Tone Mason. In 2019 RL performed songs at festivals and colleges across Canada from his 2018 EP and 2019 follow up release titled Black Lion: The Summer Jam. The 2019 EP also featured RL's breakthrough single 'Survive' (remixed version), which has surpassed 100k streams on digital platforms. After several promising 2020 singles RL is poised to again make some major waves in the hip hop circuit throughout 2021.
