Ferguson Is Not A Destination (remastered)- #Ferguson: The Young People's Movement

This mix is a part of my final presentation for my Music class entitled: Music and Social Dances of Latin America . This is a small mixtape (or jumble rather) of music during the 60s and 70s in America and Brazil during the height of Black Nationalism and Pan-Africanism in both countries. Brazilian artists connected with American Soul artists to create a hybrid of music and an entirely new genre that expressed their connection to blackness as well as their Brazilianness. This 20 minute mix has both American and Brazilian records that mirror one another to emphasize the connectivity and brother/sisterhood between Black Americans and Black Brazilians at the time. Hello, welcome to my page! I am currently a college student in an independent study with Media Studies Professor Reginold Royston, that is focusing on representations and perceptions of blackness on the internet, and how Black people have interacted with technology.
