French producer Vici has been steadily carving out his place among drum & bass’s most respected names. Since his debut track “Fight” on True Bass Recordings back in 2017, he has gone on to release across a wide spectrum of influential imprints including Blackout, Eatbrain, Skankandbass, Kosen, and ProgRAM, while also hdelivering high-profile remixes for the likes of Noisia, Audio, and Neonlight. 2025 marked a career milestone with the release of his debut album Flashover on Annix and Simula’s Neksus Sound, which was met with critical acclaim and widespread support.

With a reputation built on uncompromising quality and fearless creativity, it was only a matter of time before Vici caught the attention of the artist-led label Evolution Chamber. Now, the imprint proudly presents his debut single on the label: “Never More / Shades Of Light (feat. īnkūbe)”.

“Never More,” opens with calm, euphoric pads that glide into a melodic bridge, subtly raising tension before erupting into a hard-hitting call-and-response drop that shines a bright light on Vici’s precision and detail in production. The track effortlessly shifts through moods and styles, from the track's powerful first drop into a restrained breakdown, before re-emerging with rolling drum patterns and, finally, an unexpected trip-hop switch that closes the track in striking fashion. It’s a track rooted in creativity, where every movement feels deliberate yet unpredictable.

On the flip, Vici teams up with long-time collaborator and vocalist īnkūbe for “Shades Of Light” which is an expansive, emotionally rich piece that reveals another dimension of his artistry and skillset. Opening with glistening pads and delicate atmospherics, īnkūbe’s vocal enters like a guiding presence, pulling the listener into an uplifting yet deeply moving soundscape. When the drop lands, it strikes a rare balance: powerful and heavy, yet elevated by īnkūbe’s vocal delivery, which adds a charged emotional depth. The second drop switches gears with a powerful half-time crescendo that bursts with euphoria and raw intensity, amplifying the track’s emotional core while driving it to new heights. Each progression builds momentum while maintaining a sense of weightlessness, making “Shades Of Light” feel like a journey through every emotion humanly possible. To mark this pivotal moment, Evolution Chamber is proud to present Receptoration; A tribute project celebrating Receptor’s influential back catalogue through a series of remix singles, each one crafted by producers handpicked by Receptor himself.

With Evolution Chamber given the honour of curating the project, Receptoration represents both a farewell and a celebration, with a look back at a career that helped define an era of Drum & Bass, while giving a new generation of producers the chance to bring their own energy to his timeless works.

The first single from the project delivers an explosive start, with Gydra and Neonlight stepping up to deliver two dynamic reinterpretations.

Amidst the flames of the palace that burned around him, the ronin longed for his memories of years past, in which the rule of his prior sovereign had been wise, benevolent, & just. A time before the ascension of the ruler's cousin following the chaotic succession of his death, a time in which the very thought of the course the ronin now pursued would have seemed surreptitious at best. Despite his own misgivings, the ronin had chosen to favor the honor of his familial oath in continued service to this new shogun. In time, he had hoped, the reality of ruling the grand realm left by his predecessor would help stir the new shogun from his avarice & cruelty.

Now, he stood solemn amidst the chaos of coup & revolution, reviling in the knowledge that time had not been his ally. Now wielding his blade in an oath all his own, he had taken up arms against those still loyal to his former master & broken his oath, rendering himself an outcast in the courts of all lords across the land. Yet he carried on, for on this path of flame and rebellion there burned one faint glimmer of hope for redemption. It would be he who would slay his former master and restore tranquility to the land once more. What judgment may fall upon his own shoulders past that point mattered not. Even if his own head should roll for the breaking of his oath, the lives of countless more would be spared from the tyrant for whom the palace now burned.
