Rennes artist Midnight Totem lands on buzzing French label Tripalium Corp with 'Race To Live'. 9 tracks of deep, darkly lit bass and percussive instrumentals resonating with elements of trance, trip-hop and lo-fi. 

After battling illness throughout much of her youth, Midnight Totem delves into her feelings of urgency to live on this project. Our featured track 'Denial' finds its course through trembling bass murmurs and monstrous backgrounds that create feelings of tension and desire with provocative trance synth work.

Welcome back to another Transmission broadcasting from the HER 他 Transmission Mix Series, our mix series showcasing amazing artists from around the world. For the 144th edition, we bring you a mix from Netherlands-based DJ, Ambu Bambu.

With breakbeat, electro, and percussive experimentalism, Ambu Bambu will take you on a bouncy journey through broken electronic rhythms. She pays homage to her ethnic heritage by using melodies and sounds inspired by traditional Chinese music, blending moody, fast-paced electronics with Asian motifs.

As a resident at Relate Radio, she presents her monthly show called 'Electronic Identity Crisis' -the title being an ode to growing up bicultural- which features wonderfully weird, difficult-to-categorise electronic music.

Since entering the scene, her recognisable sound was quickly picked up by radio stations, clubs, and festivals alike, and she now has performances under her belt at some of the Netherlands' leading events, such as Soenda, Thuishaven, and Down the Rabbit Hole.

Matale is a visual artist and a Dj from Mitrovica, Kosovo. She is the co-founder of Bijat, a music collective dedicated to providing a platform for women and queers in the Prishtina electronic music scene. She’s also the co-founder of Prishtine is Burning, a club night
dedicated to the drag scene of Prishtina. Some of the main clubs and festivals who hosted her are Boiler Room, Sonic Acts, Dokunights, Club Drugstore, Dokutech, Popoff Kitchen etc. She was also a guest artist in some of the predominant world-famous radio shows of the underground scene like NTS Radio, Radio80000, Jerome Mixfile and Soft Spot.

Legacy Russell and Victoria Sin revisit the Serpentine Galleries’ GUEST, GHOST, HOST: MACHINE! Marathon, where more than 50 participants addressed the themes and challenges that underpin the coming age of automation, over 12 hours in front of a live audience. The podcasts feature key moments of the day and continue the conversation on how we might complicate a future with artificial intelligence in interesting ways.

The GUEST, GHOST, HOST: MACHINE!  Marathon brought together artists, scientists, engineers, poets, AI developers, sociologists, philosophers, filmmakers, writers, anthropologists, occultists and musicians to consider the impact of artificial intelligence and its relationship to human development on planet earth. After a trilogy of Marathons that addressed Extinction (2014), Transformation, (2015), and Miracles (2016), the Serpentine turned to the near future, exploring artificial intelligence, interspecies cooperation, machine learning, transhumanism and non-linear time.

Timothy Morton is Rita Shea Guffey Chair in English at Rice University. He has collaborated with Björk, Olafur Eliasson, Jennifer Walshe, Haim Steinbach, and Pharrell Williams. He is the author of Humankind: Solidarity with Nonhuman People (Verso, 2017), Dark Ecology: For a Logic of Future Coexistence (Columbia, 2016), Nothing: Three Inquiries in Buddhism (Chicago, 2015), Hyperobjects: Philosophy and Ecology after the End of the World (Minnesota, 2013), Realist Magic: Objects, Ontology, Causality (Open Humanities, 2013), The Ecological Thought (Harvard, 2010), Ecology without Nature (Harvard, 2007), as well as eight other books and 200 essays.

Legacy Russell is a writer, artist, and cultural producer. Born and raised in New York City's East Village she is the UK Gallery Relations Lead for the online platform Artsy. Her work can be found in a variety of publications worldwide: BOMB, The White Review, Rhizome, DIS, The Society Pages, Guernica, Berfrois and beyond. Holding an MRes of Visual Culture with Distinction at Goldsmiths College of University of London, her academic and creative work focuses on gender, performance, digital selfdom, idolatry, and new media ritual. Her first book Glitch Feminism is forthcoming from Verso.

Victoria Sin is a London based artist concerned with the experience of the physical within the social body. Their work explores desire, identification and objectification within systems of looking and reification of ideal images within technologies of representation. They work across performance, moving image, writing, installation, and print, and use drag as a tool to challenge expectations and attitudes on femme identities and how images and iconography of femininity are produced, inscribed, and performed. Their long-term project, Dream Babes, explores speculative fiction as a productive strategy of queer resistance, invading existing narratives around naturalised states of sex, gender and race, imaging futurity that does not depend on existing historical and social infrastructure.
