Next up on Black Seven Music, we are back with another volume of our Summer VA. Seven delightful dancefloor heaters with an array of different vibes, showcasing work from some of the label’s favourite artists from around the world.



Label bosses BRODYR kick things off with ‘Tell Me If You Like’, wasting no time in setting the pace. Full-bodied and then some, with rump-shaking energy driven by its heavyweight kicks and rough-edged baseline. Quirky glitch percs and masterfully constructed vocal chops amplify its energy even further. As far as prime-time club tracks go, this one's way up there.



Nic Zega and Victor Valora’s ‘Ximena’ features an impressively weighty cadence. Gritty rolling Tech House with attitude-full bass and synth constructions to match its pounding drum programming, broken up with dreamy atmospheric bridges and hammering drops. 



Martino Resi’s ‘The Music’ is a pacy and driving Tech number with a stripped-back interplanetary feel. Arpeggiated synth lines and dreamy pads make an unusually strong accomplice to its roaring low-frequency punch, tied together with an ethereal spoken vocal. 



‘Aces High’ gives us a taste of Lokia’s boisterous production palate. Gritty synths and a rough sub melody strike through the track’s bed of shuffled groove and crisp hat strikes. Brute UK Tech house at its finest, leaving it all on the table and armed for peak-time crowds.



Nicolas Caprile’s ‘Rhythm Of Love’ has a dark and eerie persona, with smatterings of techno influence in places. Entirely hypnotic from start to finish, with every single element of the track contributing to its enslaving rhythm in some way. Pulsating, potent, and largely unparalleled. 



‘Make Ya Mind Up’ sees Copasetic deliver an uptempo and hard-hitting contribution. Thudding kicks and super-deep sub-bass, accompanied by layered tonal percussion, contagious buildups, and weighty drops. A high-energy-pumper with a raw feel and hypnotic elements throughout. 



BOSHER closes off the release with an unsurprisingly robust offering. Driven by masterfully crafted vocal constructions, the track rides the wave of piercing hats and a bounding bassline from start to finish. Another high-octane rhythmic weapon for packed-out club spaces the world over!

Unknown Avenue - Tell Me [RAWLTD027]

Italy’s rising star Mauro Venti will arrive on Hot Creations for the first time in July with the three-track Sirens EP. It continues a stellar 2022 for the burgeoning artist, having released on EMI and Snatch Records already this year.
“I am still speechless when thinking about the fact that I have signed to Hot Creations - at the moment I still don't realise what has happened! I will always be grateful to Jamie for this opportunity and for believing in my music. It feels like I’m living in a dream!. Regarding my Sirens EP, the tracks are a mix of different styles, each of which remind me of the summer season in Ibiza. The title track leads the charge, blending minimal-laced bass elements with a rolling lead groove. It’s a modern house cut through and through, building cleanly into the futuristic sounds of Prison. Signature synths create a bladerunner-esque feel, transporting us to far away realms, before Symphony ends proceedings on a techy, late-night note courtesy of four-four bass patterns and gritty, hard-hitting percussion.
Mauro Venti is fast-becoming one of contemporary house music’s leading forces. His releases speak for themselves, with appearances on Green Velvet’s Relief, Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars and Gorgon City’s Realm Records already under his belt. At just twenty-five years old, such feats are made all the more impressive, proving there’s plenty still to come for the young Italian talent.

Our next release on Roushlabel comes from the increasingly popular Bassel Darwish. The Distance Music frontman has amassed an impressive amount of high-quality labels on reputable labels over the last few years and his own label is really picking up momentum too. His 'Bring Down' EP consists of two big originals and a remix from Madrid-born producer FreedomB. The title track opens the release with a sophisticated groove. Built around a weighty sub bassline and an undulating beat with a subtle level of vocal presence, it finds itself in amply sufficient vibe building territory and would suit daytime terrace atmospheres perfectly due to it's stripped back and 'easy to move to' approach. Next up, 'Code' takes things up a few gears in the energy department. An uptempo stripped back dancefloor pleaser, carrying with it a rumbling low-end, hooky vocal and finespun melodic presence. Another quintessentially groovy number with more underground intensity, perfectly capable of cranking up the heat in the peak hours of any party. Last but not least, FreedomB's remix of 'Code'. Keeping the focus on the track's ambience, the substituted bassline and clever use of hypnotic effects in the transitional phases give it a completely new identity. Not too dissimilar to the original, but, at the same time presenting standout differences which make for an enjoyable new experience of something that was already highly engaging... clever work from an intelligent creator! Andre Salmon returns to Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this November with his ‘Da’ Hot Nation & The Salmon Man’ EP, featuring Kricked, K-Mack, and Apollo 84.
Andre Salmon is one of house music’s hardest working artists, having featured on almost 100 releases this year alone while chalking up full EPs for the likes of Rawthentic, South of Saturn, and of course Hottrax. Recruiting an all-star team of collaborators for ‘Da’ Hot Nation & The Salmon Man’, Salmon calls up Slightly Sizzled Records boss Kricked, fellow Hottrax alumni K-Mack, and Twisted Fusion’s Apollo 84.
Opening cut ‘Da’ Hot Nation’ adds a modern twist to the sound of early 00’s breaks, with Salmon and Kricked deploying a rattling bassline and snappy drums to devastating effect, as springy yet subdued vocal chops splash between the percussion.
‘Salmon Man’ with K-Mack sees the pair assemble a grooving house track, sprinkled with dubbed-out hi-hats and effected vocals, rolling effortlessly through its peaks and troughs. Joining forces with Apollo 84 for the third and final track, ‘Black Poem, Black Me’ utilises creeping synth lines and chunky basslines to craft a seriously effective slice of house, perfectly rounding off the release.
