That Town Where Our Hearts Stand Still

There were times when I was single and imagined myself in romances in my songs, and of course there are also times when you are married, have children and a great wife, and still write a song about being left just before Christmas and then celebrating the feast of love alone and lonely. With my trained imagination, the biggest catastrophe can be built out of the smallest quarrel. That's why the song is actually written in the mood it describes, driven by the great sadness that this beautiful relationship is now obviously on the rocks. Needless to say, all was well the next day, and I had new lyrics. That's fair compensation for a mind that's constantly scaring you.

Lonesome Christmas

The song is right in the middle between indietronica and wave and works it's way from a four on the floor electronica to an industrial finale. Performed mainly with a 2600 synth and electric guitar plus a dark voice and melancholic lyrics.

Headless Times and Thoughtless Castles

The new BSOC single tells the story of two shy people who get to know each other while dancing. They move from club to club so that the night doesn't come to an end. Musically, we follow the two of them. It's a classic duet with alternating parts of synth-pop, a touch of acid house, sudden bursts of indie rock - you name it.

GONE is a melancholic alternative house track. The lyrics are about your own battle with jealousy - which you lose, and that's why you leave. The rhythm is driving, the analogue synths and drum machines pump, but the calm vocals and dark melodies make it clear that this is not a party banger, but a song for the headphones or the car.

Gone

This new track is a tour de force between dark synth-post-punk and post-industrial indietronica. A dystopian text announces a storm that will drive all meaning out of life. Classic drum machines and 303-chirping slowly build up the gloomy scenario until it ends in an almost cheerful lalala chorus (with Jules de Fatal).

BSOC is an electronica/indie-rock project from the island of Hiddensee, a tiny German island in the Baltic see with around 1000 inhabitants and accessible only by boat. Active since 2017, BSOC is a solo project by Chris Wirrwitz, with diverse influences from experimental electronica, wave and indie rock, a genre-bending style emerged that is characterized by Chris' voice and catchy, melancholic melodies. Chris is a multi-instrumentalist, mixer and producer, leaving only the mastering process to Erik Pritscha. 
The first album "Dark Times On A Sunny Beach" was released in 2021, the second album "20 Golden Melodies From The Post-Industrial Era" followed in 2023, and „Dust on the Dance Floor“ was released in 2024. „The Summers of Your Life“ is the latest single for the upcoming album „Tiny Island Blues“.
