Xav, who is the Richmond events lead for BLACK TECHNO MATTERS, is heading up I-95 to DC hot off the heels of an open-to-close set at @losorichmond.

Xav is a growing force in the underground music scene, who has a knack for storytelling as a DJ through beautiful melodic arcs and deep techno rhythms that are as inviting as they are mysterious. He is also imaginative as an event promoter, creating experiences like our recent HAUS BOAT party + Canal Party + Sidepiece event triple combo w/ @anomalisradio.

Brace yourself for an October surprise! Not only are we doing one more TECHNO IN THE PARK this year, but we’ll have the legendary @that_juana on the decks! Join us Friday October 4 as we close out the season!

JUANA has been instrumental to the development of the techno scene in DC as a member of the Sequence collective and continues to shape the musical landscape of the nation’s capital as a member of Noxeema Jackson (@party_at_noxys).

Juana is not only a powerhouse on the decks, but also in the studio, recently releasing a stellar set of tracks on the We Are Everything We Think We’re Not EP. Juana also has a remix on the upcoming Asura EP by @stukesm4, coming out later in October on the BLACK TECHNO MATTERS Music Label.

This recording feels like the closest I've gotten to the essence of a l00p. It's a simple disco loop that I let play on my xdj while freaking the mixer eq and fx live. It feels full circle to connect the abstractness of the l00p concept with the groovy disco sound that I grew up listening to on my mother's record player. It's all about falling into the groove and flowing with the energy of the music. I hope you enjoy this one!

A rising luminary in the Southern electronic scene, DJ/producer Qemist returns to Moveltraxx with The New Juke Tape, a genre-blurring EP that channels the frenetic energy of Chicago footwork while grounding it in the grit, swing, and soul of Memphis music.
