The idea for this song was to describe how we felt transitioning from late teens to young adults. A celebration of turning the corner into adulthood. At the same time, having shattered expectations of where we'd be at that age. Looking around and seeing all our peers graduating, living on their own, and even getting engaged. There are times where we wonder if we're behind in life. So when we wrote it, we wanted the hook to sound/feel like it's a narration about a group of kids; then the verses are from the perspective of the kids.
