Go freebie, go freebie go... No, we're not doing our best Vanilla Ice impression (although well done for clocking we started this paragraph to the tune of Robert Van Winkel's 1991 classic 'Go Ninja Go') we're of course referring to our latest free download here at DT HQ.

So what are we giving away today? Only a fresh cut from genre hopper APLOT's triumphant return to Tiefparterre Records. Taken from his recently released 'Lifetime' EP, we've secured the records title track for you to cop, gratis. Yep, we don't know how we do it either... Taking influence from across the electronic spectrum you can grab your copy of 'Lifetime' below. Now don't say we don't give you anything...

APLOT returns to Tiefparterre Records for his ‘Lifetime’ EP to bring four eclectic, dancefloor focused cuts.
Launched out of Austria in 2002, Tiefparterre has delivered a variety of styles across the board whilst acting as a platform for releases from luminaries such as Beardyman, DJ Vadim and Mad Professor.
With a musical education spanning drum & bass, techno and hip-hop (with the latter’s golden era of the early- 90s being a major influence), APLOT’s music is unsurprisingly diverse and innovative, making Tiefparterre an appropriate home for his material. Part of Red Bull Music Academy’s Bass Camp Vienna alongside Cid Rim Dorian Concept, The Cinematic Orchestra, Four Tet and many more, its no surprise then that the rising talent is a gifted producer who’s had support from the likes of Fact Magazine.
‘Want U’ accentuates his fusion of genres, with a particular emphasis on the amen break that slips in and out of the track amongst trap-like elements. ‘From The Stars’ is then more footwork focused using subtle drum work alongside hip-hop beats, incessant synth stabs and echoing vocal cutups. The percussion focused ‘Lifetime’ borrows heavily from APLOT’s jungle influences with a low-end so prevalent it could easily work itself into a drum & bass set. Lastly, ‘Sumanga’ is a rumbling track that ends the release in a bass driven climax.

Marquis Hawkes continues to deliver tune after tune. The producer now teams up with Dublin born producer and fellow Aus Music signee Timothy Blake to deliver another bag of grooves to Will Saul and Fink’s ever-outstanding imprint. Hawkes & Blake’s Love Precipitation goes straight in with playful yet powerful piano lines and rejoicing synths that are held up with the punch of classic 909 drums, giving the track an equal amount of classic Detroit garage feels and soulful 90s New Jersey groove. 
Its safe to say we’re pretty excited about what these two are going to bring to the table in 2016 and to kick off their joint venture, i-D are pleased to share the title track from the new EP.
