Following up from 2022’s debut album, the “Saudade LP” on the revered Shall Not Fade label, Lorca returns with a new 6 track EP on his own Live Ones imprint. 

Where the Saudade LP focused on the more ambient and ethereal end of electronic music, True Clour was born out of a new found obsession with Eurorack and therefore takes a darker, more mechanical approach, focusing largely on mutant basslines, driving drum machine rhythms, and flurrying synth lines. 
  		
The intro track “Buchla’s Bump” is aptly named after the synth it was programmed on, the Buchla Easel and features bumping, pulsating sub bass, sample and hold midrange bass, and chugging 606 drums.  

“Beams” and “Spotlight Symphony” follow in a similar fashion, this time utilising filter resonance as a melodic tool as the tracks build to a euphoric yet melancholic ending.  

“Late Nate FM Jam” interrupts the beats as an instrumental interlude, featuring underwater soundscapes and glistening, reverb soaked arpeggios. “True Colour” and “Ghosted” switch up the tempo and involve live, distorted, overdrived, and compressed drum breaks alongside more mutant basslines to round off the darkest and most techno influenced EP Lorca has yet produced.
