Blake Branch was born in Dothan, AL, a city of an unexpectedly rich musical heritage . Blessed with both a talent and passion for music, he made the electric bass guitar his instrument of choice at age 13. Blake performed regularly in his hometown in a variety of musical environments while quickly developing a reputation as a great bassist. A few highlights include performing with American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, releasing a self-produced solo album, studying with bassist Adam Nitti and attending Victor Wooten’s Bass and Nature Camp.

In Fall of 2007 Blake began studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA focusing on jazz composition and bass performance while performing outside of school in various venues. At Berklee Blake has studied with Matthew Garrison, Anthony Vitti, Bruce Gertz, Greg Hopkins, Joe Lovano, Tiger Okoshi and many other fantastic teachers.

In May 2010 Blake graduated Berklee with high honors and shortly afterward relocated to Nashville, TN, where he has been playing has a sideman for a variety of rock, country, gospel, and jazz groups. He is preparing to release an album of original compositions by Fall 2015.
