Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;

Was not spoken of the soul.

Psalm of Life

A setting of William Blake's poem "Eternity" for tenor and piano. Composed in 2016. Performed by tenor Evan Abeling and Pianist Brian Pezzone.

He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sunrise.
