Waking up today a willing castaway
Puts a finger toward a glimmer
And it's brilliant for an instant then it fades

Gazing at some dirt, a hush floats in then bursts
And a million screaming shadows form a picture
that will soon go up in flames
Watch it closely as it decays
Disintegrates

Up there around the bend, a graveyard full of friends
No one tends golden patches
And the cabin is overrun with copperhead snakes
