Blake, thank you so much for telling this story! I was Music Director with Jesse in '08 and '09, and hosted a show for 3 years with my best friend called Mohawks and Mustaches. Being a part of The Pulse throughout most of my time at BSU was an immensely amazing experience. Agree about the emotional journey here, and so rooting for you and everyone else helping to push The Pulse forward.

Great work, thanks for telling the rest of the story. Boise State Public Radio does still have student employees, in fact the podcast you're referring to ("I Used to Listen to KBSU") was produced mostly by a student - Alex Ravella. There are a couple of us who very much want to build that connection, without taking advantage of students. Is it possible?

This podcast documentary outlines the history of student-run radio at Boise State University. The history is one example of a national phenomenon concerning the conglomeration of student-run radio stations into different networks.
