Originally released by Musical Freedom, the instrumental edit of 19-year-old Oliver Heldens’ deep house smash ‘Gecko’ has become a staple in club sets for 2014, peaking at #2 in the Beatport chart and garnering support from the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Zane Lowe. 

The latest edit ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’, written and vocalled by Becky Hill during a late night recording session with MNEK, is being released by Parlophone’s vital new dance imprint FFRR. Initially written for another vocalist, Becky’s towering vocal on Gecko’s chorus was deemed the perfect fit and has already been coined the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Zane Lowe.

After a string of seminal releases through recognised imprints such as Future Classic, Nervous and Kitsune, Luke Million proudly joins the etcetc family with his new EP, ‘Light and Sound’.

Luke’s unique take on cosmic disco makes nods to the past, present and the future - a fuelled up mix of melodic, harmonic pop, synth masterwork, and propelling beats. ‘Arlond’ and ‘Midnight’ were both crossover cult classics and ‘Light and Sound’ looks set to join them. Last year Gomma was approached to rework some songs from the legendary Casablanca Records catalogue. Of course we said yes. So me, Telonius, Munk and The Phenomenal Handclap Band did four new interpretations of classic tracks by Donna Summer & Giorgio Moroder, Skatt Brothers, Stephanie Mills and from the Flashdance soundtrack!

For the project we needed a very special vocalist. There was only one who has the right understanding of history, the perfect dirty approach and enough soul: Peaches. And she was totally enthusiastic about that.

"Casablanca Reworks" will be out on 13 January 2012 on Gomma.
